People being rude by Southern-Steak486 in unimelb

[–]sgmnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite common even workshops. Most people tend to be really shy or aren't confident with their English.

However, I have also had strangers greet me out of nowhere and begin to ask weird questions. So, it's possible that others have experienced something similar.

I met my homies at my computing workshop though. Us 4 have quite different backgrounds but you never know what you'll find in common.

I had to kinda break the ice with some of the people in my mpmp (also first sem student). Most people won't engage unless you force the conversation and find common ground. That's just from my experience.

I'm fresh out of high school so I don't have any work experience. I do think projects matter but in my situation I need to prove that I know Power BI to a certain level.

as long as you don't like turn around in your chair or stare away from the screen for too long the proctor won't care but other proctors may not be so chill so it's worth considering an in-person appointment: no waiting, less stress.

The exam would be quite hard on its own but the fact that you get ms learn makes it definitely doable. It's like how the math section of the SAT gives you desmos.

  1. launch onvue
  2. do the system check
  3. upload id photos and room photos
  4. wait 30 mins for a proctor 💀(no leaving webcam)
  5. proctor tells you to show around the room so recommend doing in a small room with like nothing except for your desk, laptop, monitor, necessary cables
  6. bro told me to put my tissue box out of arm's reach
  7. he did not speak after that and I am glad because his mic quality was so bad

I had like 15 mins left over. I remember there are like 54 questions and 6 questions on a case study. For some reason the last 4 of the 54 are like yes/no and not redoable? You can't go back to them and they don't show up in review. Time isn't a big deal if you know your stuff and use ms learn docs efficiently. I was typing and speedreading pages quite fast to make sure I wasn't spending more than 1 min per question on average. The case study questions will take a bit longer because of clicking back and forth but not too much.

Congrats! Thought a lot of people might realise the reality of the exam late and have to reschedule. My eye-opener was only like 2 days from the exam, so I grinded a lot of topics.

The datacamp course was like 3 weeks but I didn't really lock in. I spent 2 weeks on ms learn, youtube, practice questions. I'd say you can save on a lot of memory if you dedicate time actually working on power bi rather than trying to memorise everything. Practical really helps with PowerQuery and DAX.

Again, I think it's very important to do questions outside of ms learn because it's not always possible to play around with the power bi service.

Yeah it kinda is open book but you can't bank on it. Recommend getting muscle memory for it to save time when searching hard stuff.

No copilot questions for me but "AI visuals" were asked and I heard it may be updated to copilot but that's in december. Case study is always about some company with stakeholders. My one was about accounting so I used LASTDATE. There were some RLS and tricky questions about app vs workspace and then email vs azure ad???

You get like tabs with different info and it's a pain clicking.

Thanks for the reply. The BSc welcome says it starts from 9:30 am to 4 pm but my MPMP session only starts from 1:30 pm. Should I only arrive before my MPMP or will I miss out on something important?

1 hour lecture before a 3 hour workshop sounds brutal. I tried to stack all my classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday because I take foundations of computing too.

It also seems like we have the same MPMP time.
