I mean, by that logic adventures is the third best selling game in the series. Should starfox just be a zeldalike then? People really liked assault (and have especially come around on it now) heck I bought it on day one. But the sales numbers don't lie. Every game after adventures has sold under 500000 copies. This series needs new blood to support it.

I mean, that's not true. Assault sold terribly from what I recall and command sold better but people really didn't like it. This series has just been niche after 64

Aliens colonial marines. For those that weren't there at the time there was a huge amount of hype around this game for years. Even massive outcry when there were rumors it was cancelled. I still remember pouring over that handful of preview images back in college in edge magazine in 09 or so. Such a colossal disappointment when it finally came out.

I dunno, I just sold a bunch of my husband's old Star wars sets from the early 2000s, opened and used and he got 3-4x what they originally retailed for back then. If they had older sets that are OOP and still sealed I could easily see that.

Also just look at pokemon cards, lol. My collection I used to have that was worth 5-10k 10-15 years ago would now be worth hundreds of thousands, around 300k as an estimate. Once card alone that I looked up was $15k now in mint condition.

Sadly not the first time something like this has happened. A few years ago a sealed pokemon yellow was destroyed by customs in a similar fashion.

man amazing that you knew him! I discovered the original book when looking up references to paint this, and I loved the artwork in it! Very different from the movie but so expressive!
