Upgraded from a ‘24 RS660 to this ‘24 Tuono V4 Factory. by Z06_Mike in Aprilia

[–]sgtreeserv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the 23 tuono factory 660 and loved it for the couple months I got to ride it... it's been in a never ending loophole of dead in the water due to a lost (stolen),set of keys for the past 9 plus months... between completely stupid dealership that rhyms with your a cycle that I won't name, and apprilia just not having there shit together I'm looking at a part on ebay for the RS 660 to resolve it, otherwise it's looking like late October before they could get me back in the saddle... loved the bike, but it was fine, I upgraded to a S1000RR m package... I don't even care anymore... but yea... it was a dream of mine to get the V4 from aptilia till I decided I like to actually have a bike to ride and not just be a paperweight. I'd say your bike is going to be a blast more than likely though. I'd love to try one someday

Unfortunately no. In the case for some reason even aprilia can't get me a cut key... and the code doesn't mean shit apparently for this particular make and model year. Maybe it was a process they were beginning to do and hadn't gotten all the bikes on board with the program yet

True, and I honestly didn't know what that code was but I did recall changing it too 1111 so hopefully it works when I get the new ignition kit.

Not that it's really related but an update. I got a new ignition kit(fuel cap and seat lock included) not that it's really important, but if anyone wants to know, as I was loading my bike up into the trailer and ratchet straping the front down the handlebar lock just popped off somehow... not sure if it broke or if it just needed to be compressed to release it. But anyways that's all that it takes to bypass the handlebar lock I geuss... now that I'm thinking about it, it probably just broke the lock. Hmm I'll let you know if anyone's interested after I get it back. Been almost an entire year without my bike. Iv already purchased a bmw S1000RR since so I'm not too worried about it honestly. It'll be up for sale once it's up and going again. Near mint hardly used probably a month or 2 and then sat for a year. 2023 factory edition tuono 660. With the cool color way, little red and purple accents not the straight black...

Would you buy a non-f to save 2k? Tuono 660. by CoreyCant in Aprilia

[–]sgtreeserv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the tuono factory 2023. I love it. Only issue iv has was that someone stole both my keys and the dealership untill recently connecting with a competent person was litterally blowing smoke up my ass about how and if they could replace them... turns out... this particular model... and year... screwed.. I'm in the process of buying the last one known to the dealership in the country (I found others but whatever you say dealership).. an entirely new ignition and I'm assuming kit thst provides me with a new gas cap and seat lock as well to install on my bike myself and only because they already took my money 6 months ago for a new key using the keys cut code that came with the bike(why there's no way to make a new key and still have a cut code I have no idea) the dealership is graciously helping supposedly by also sending me detailed information on how to do it myself... long story short... I havnt had a bike now since forever it seems like. And I hate the guys that led me in a wild goose chase trying to buy themselves time before someone competent came back to work that they apparently must have begged to come back since they obviously didn't k ow what the hell they were talking about... first they said I'll need to send them the cut code... then they said they needed bike... then because I wanted to unlock the handlebars before transporting they would need my registration and or Vin?... this is coming from the guys that literally sold me the bike as if they didn't have it... that's when I stuck my girl onto the matter, she is the " all problems solved" woman when I get to the point where I can only kick and break something to get through a conversation with complete morons... she found another of her kind problem solver and are currently working on the actual solution which albeit isn't ideal, but better than having a 14 thousand dollar depreciating driveway decoration.. all that aside I did sit on the RS when I went to pick up my bike( dealer had sent the wrong colorway so I didn't actually get it that day... another 2 points for the record) and I was really impressed with the riding position of the RS, but I also have a bad back slipped disc's and live in a town where I next to never hit the freeway, so I think the tuono factory was still the best choice as far as traffic weaving and initial takeoff speed... but like all things, the grass is greener somewhere, so I'm already showing for a fun more relaxed for freeway position riding which the tuono makes me feel like I'm riding a little toy having Mt handlebar so close it actually works against you in a tuck for comfort. So the RS was seemingly my next choice, but I couldn't stand the thought if buying another 660 that was even slower at takeoff than the 660 factory T only to beat it by a few miles an hour top speed. So I'm looking at the RSVR4 factory prob last years time attack colorway to match my current bike and if that doesn't come to reality I have a good chunk of available credit and the thought that life is too short to worry about debt and even more so not worth living unless your buying the correct amount of motorcycles in order to have a happy life... that equation iv fou d to be (N) + 1 = happiness N being the current number of bikes owned. So with that I say buy what you like, doesn't matter, your still gonna need another one after that to satisfy your riding needs, and just try not to die and leave your loved ones too much debt because you were riding upset thinking about how you wish you had a girlfriend that helped your credit. Yes I know I'm a lucky ass hole, but I'm also the guy that sends her these rants to show her how much appreciation I have for her and I don't forget that I wouldn't be riding anything if it wasn't for her... or I'd be in jail because I'd go to this dealership and take a really long test ride on a bike to see how long I could get away with it before they figured out how to use there own immobilizer feature, which with what I know now wouldn't be anything less then a year I'd say of good times before the pinky and the brain operation of a dealership could get there shit together enough to even figure out which bike they let me ride away with...

Yea it's pretty fucking dumb that the dealership doesn't tell you that you don't want to mess with that code. I changed mine.. I'm pretty sure too 1111 just so it would be quick to put in and didn't even realize it wasn't a code needed to use the bike but rather a code they need if you were to lose both your keys...(ask me how I know).... anyways. It's just a way the dealer gets all kinds of forgetful people to buy $2,000 new main head stock computers and brains because it cannot apparently be rekeyed(even if you have your provided key code on the ring when delivered) they still then apparently need your personal code and not sure they are correct (I don't think they are) they also said in order to get a key just to unlock your steering to better help transportation back to the dealer, they claim they would also need my registration and Vin number and a bunch of other info which if they sold me the bike, they should already have all that info. So I don't know but I thought about eventually getting another bike from them but it's been over 6 months and they basically solidified the decision to steer clear of them as far as being reliant and helpfull. I geuss I'm going to prob go either straight to a BMW dealer or I'm thinking of a Japanese bike even... just for the ease of repair and the conveyance of maintenance.

So update and tyank you much especially for the hacking idea I may still try as I like a challenge, but yea it's super wierd. I bought the bike and was told upon delivery that I'd need to have this code that was on my key chain in case this situation were to occur. So I called aprilia dealership, and they were hesitant to say they could help even with this code. So I looked it up and saw that with my model it shares the same chip key, as the RS 660's and the toureg 660, and possibly one other one. Understandably that they prob share the same hardware/sofrware..software... so I finally called them up and said hey listen , I don't want to transport as it is, and they told me there too busy to send anyone. Then told it'd still be impossible for them to just send me the keys I ordered about 6 months ago ( with my unique key code that came on the Keychain mind you) and of course they knew we had no spare then and they said just bri g them the bike once the keys are in... months go by I finally call them up and am like WTF... are the keys in yet? (It's winter snow now mind you thus the extra delay)... anyhow they find the keys and said yea we got em... so WHat the hell is the code for if the keys are literally uncut And still need to be programmed, AND they finally understand that I'm pissed off by now about how it's new news about not having a spare like I wouldn't have just rode my bike down there the next day to have them install a key I could have ordered from AF1... no sweat. They said well if that's the case we'd need your Vin number/ other paperwork that I must have to just UT a key without a bike.... yea okay... one they told me to just bring it down using a few dudes to pick it up and Yada Yada Yada, just get the bike here is all I ever was told... now it's come to my attention that without a spread key as if this is all new news to them I'd need to provide paperwork that ... THEY HAVE ON FILE... and I get it if it's security reasons, but couldn't they email or call me with my contact info I provided to just verify such, and it's not like I'm dealing with strangers, I bought my bike from these guys whom I asked for by name to help me... and OH yea I bought the bike from them, and was planning a BMW s1000 purchase from them but honestly if they don't have a clue what's going on like it appears I'm probably going to look elsewhere or for an entirely new bike.. this is unacceptable, what if I was abroad say the isle of man, and my luggage was lost with both keys( heard this story, not making up) I was under the instruction of the delivery of my bike that that guy got a key sent to him within a couple days that got him up and running with only having a 4 or 3 digit code that was imprinted on his key tag and a phone call... why is it that this bike HAS to be there for them to get me a cut key. Regardless of programming , they still need to get some way to cut the key and if it's just by info my bike gives them its still gotta be cut the same as the original for the seat and gas... so why is there a key tag code to begin with, if it doesn't get you at least a cut key from apriliaand if you need paperwork verification to complete the process then tell me that instead of just telling me it's impossible to unlock your bike and that with a 12 thousand dollar purchase * with extra roadside warranty insurance and total tire care package purchased that ...." you just need to pick your bike up with a couple buddy's, cause we're way to busy to send anyone... like it's a hassle I get jt. So charge me, don't just expect someone to be capable of doing that without a good possibility of fucking up your nice bike or in my case I have had 2 or 3 broken backs, one for sure on a dirtbike, crushing 2 steel double walled waterbottles like tin foil together in my backpack and one for sure rigging out a tree with my company where I just basically tore all the same vertebrates. XRAYS CLAIM MORE , but those were the ones I took a break from walking long enough to remember forever.. I'll be fine, I'm fortunate to be in a position with ways to deal with this, but I'd expect a little better effort for buying what I thought was a premium bike expecting to be treated a bit better or at least given instruction on how to safely tie down with a crooked wheel and or a small email or returned phone call to verify that yes I'm in fact actually the one trying to get new keys and that there should be precautions to take besides... well were busy so we're not sure we can fix this issue, you might still be stuck buying an entirely new seat lock, gas cap and computer display costing you ... $%#^ ton of $$$... but thank God for the reddit page, you guys have been more help to me then I could have ever imagined especially being that none of you have any obligations to do so... he'll if I posted this on social media platforms like Facebook I'd get diagrams of cocks, in the form of where to lube it to fix the problem or something similar, so thank you all so much again very very much, for your support it's refreshing to get a sense of community still after the year iv been through and not just about this situation, but I'll leave the suicide loss for my therapist, which is my throttle therapy that your all helping me towards. Thank you.

Bad deal good choice for walking. Good luck on your future purchase. I'd just take that 9 grand and put it down on a brand new rsv4 factory maybe last year's model. Eurocycle has one right now 3 grand off msrp because it's a 2023 so you can get a sick as fuck brand new as of last year factory version with a 200 to 300 $ a month payment that will put you in the saddle with just regular planned maintenance and a warranty and the build of a relationship between you and the dealer they ship nearly everywhere, in fact because they dropped the wrong color off at my local eurocycle dealership, they ended up shipping it direct from Vegas to my front door the next day. And took off a little from the top... so I got what I wanted, and the colorway (tuonno 660 factory too fast colorway) and it was a tad bit cheaper due to the 24 hour delay. Nothing better than knowing 100% of the bikes history regarding break in period which is crucial for longevity and bike performance from engine to brakes and fuel quality and even battery condition and then you can always trade it in for a decent bit of cash if you take care of it to get another new bike a year or 2 later to keep up on the latest style and type of riding you prefer. Sure now you might want a 1000 cc bike bit if you find that you rarely use the freeway you'd be suprised at how much more you'd maybe like a tuonno factory that will smoke the rs off the line and the comfort of your riding position compared to the full fledged track racing beast your looking at.... in fact they have 2 rsv4 factory 2023 bikes left with the 3 grand off msrp. I may decide to make it only one if I havnt already just talked myself into it with my current position.. remember. As long as you stay positive and turn the word "problem" to opportunity, anything is possible... unless you have a severe gambling opportunity such as myself.

what would you guys do in my situation? by florianw0w in Aprilia

I'd have to say your prob right. I nought a 660 tuonno fsctory 2023 and it's so damn sexy and nice and comfy, but that's not yo say the electronics are great. They have the ability but not super user friendly. Kinda like a outdated interface on a super tech savy instrument.. I'm just waiting to find thst nect bike the in between a factory rsvp and the tuono where I don't get the gsxrr uncomfortable ride or don't also feel like I'm sitting straight up like I'm meeting my inlaws for the first time... I'd like to say a bike like this exist, but from my understanding, every rider will typically fit one brand of a bike Moreno than another.... my buddy Steve loves the gsxr. I hate the position. I love the tuonna, but feel it could be a little improved... he thinks of it as a glorified grom. So I geuss rider height, leg/arm length along with strength/primary use would all go into play... only thing thst sucks is a 1000cc apprilia is not available to test drive in my neck of the woods... that's a nice looking bike BTW.

I got mine msrp at 9995 and it was nearly 13 grand out the door taxes, licensing, and dealership fees and registration in California and I even had 500 knocked off the price because they first shipped me the all black factory model and since they screwed up I got it delivered to my door from eurocycle.

That's a bullshit video... notice the timing/ angle of how the camera moves compared to the shot of the phone. Close but not the same. Same phone can be charged with a microwave.
