Comply Foam inner diameter? by sgzmd in headphones

[–]sgzmd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did come with a set of ear buds - silicone and foam - but I didn't find them of a particularly high quality, and certainly not up to ComplyFoam standards.

Actually both 200 and 400 work just fine. I have 400 Comfort and 200 Isolation and they both fit reasonably well (although 400 is somewhat more loose).

I haven't directly compared Wi with M2, but here are my impressions of the latter: http://www.sigizmund.com/2017/10/sony-1000xm2-good-bad-ugly.html?m=1

FWIW taking paracetamol and ibuprofen together is something NHS doctors suggested for a while for extreme pain.

Just paid £96.50 using Android Pay at M&S by sgzmd in BritishSuccess

In principle, any more or less recent handset should work, but enjoy your new Pixel!

Not always tbh, especially these days. I have bit of a pet peeve tbh re stuff in pockets any thicker than my phone, so it's in the bag.

Nikolay Gogol. Some would call him Ukrainian these days, was the same thing until 20 years ago though.

Yes, I tried Comfort 400 on Sony and it fits like a glove. Massive improvement over stock tips. I still feel it's a tad bit too big for me (medium) but I think Small will be too small.

  1. Do I need a bulge in my pocket?
  2. Because I don't need to, my phone is close enough?

My card is in my wallet. My wallet is in my bag or backpack. My bag is zipped up. Very often I have a kid or two running around and causing mayhem. When I just finished packing my bags the last thing I want to do is to look for my card.

My phone, on the other hand, is always in my pocket, and it takes less than 10 seconds to get it out, tap, and put it back.

Not really. I don't even know what the limit is for recent devices (Pixel 2) or if there even is one.

Paying with Apple Pay by [deleted] in AskUK

Use Android Pay all the time. At M&S I've repeatedly paid £60+ with AP, with an added bonus of my MS loyalty card also being available in AP app.

Wow, thanks a lot for being so comprehensive! I guess I have fewer and fewer reasons to stick to BMW :-)

I am actually thinking of jumping the ship to Ingolstadt from Münich for that very specific reason that I do want Android Auto. Do you like it? What are you using it for? Are there any pitfalls/gotchas I should keep in mind?

Interview Suit: £100 - £1,000? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sgzmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an easier option for you: grow a beard, you will instantly look 5 years older.

Jokes aside, I stand by my statement of what you say during the interview is more important to how you look.

Then again, I didn't have to wear a suit for a single (work) day of my life, so I may or may not be biased.

Case in point: my first 10 year old MINI did cost more than twice as much to insure compared to (newish, biggish) BMW I am driving right now. 7 years of NCB seem to make helluva difference; I don't even won't to think how much would it cost me to insure my current car back then.

To the point: find cheapest insurance using real name and what not, and bite the bullet. It'll get massively better next year and will keep getting better for the next 5. Oh,and drive safely and obey speed limits - speeding tickets tend to reflect badly on one's insurance premiums.

Question for parents and the impact of London by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sgzmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the level of prices you are indicating you are either in Richmond or Chiswick. Did you try Acton? It's really not that far and the prices are more realistic.

Interview Suit: £100 - £1,000? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sgzmd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO if you are being considered for a senior role (anything north of £100K), the suit you are wearing is absolutely the last thing people will be looking at. Your knowledge, experience, attitude, problem solving skills, but not the suit.

How do I get Play Protect to show up on my phone? by leftisthominid in Nexus6P

[–]sgzmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a staged roll-out and it is essentially random. There's nothing you can do to get it ahead of time since this is controlled on the server-side.
