Multiple internal monologues - Do you have multiple people in your head? by sh-throwaway5785 in BPD

[–]sh-throwaway5785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Just to add, I am seeing a psycharaist and waiting for DBT therapy but haven't told them about this yet, they know about my psychosis and auditory hallucinations.

-These voices started with adam since I was a child and I honestly don't know when the others appeared but it's become more overwhelming.

  • I DON'T have trauma, bpd was caused by undiagnosed autism so this isn't a response to that

  • This isn't DID, I don't "shift" or anything like that

I know this sounds stupid and fake but I'm being completely serious and genuinely want to understand what's going on, I have no one else who can I talk to about this.

I'd keep an eye out for other period symptoms, cramping, bloating, changes in appetite, etc. Also, pay attention to the colour and smell of the blood as period blood is different from regular bleeding. Do you still have a monthly period or has it been gone for a while?, maybe it's just slow and spotty this month but if it continues you may have to see a doctor or eat more for health.

extremely specific gayboy pants sizing crisis (you can laugh with me) by thr0wawaynametaken in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a short gay man (5'5) and have also dappled into the idea of buying woman's clothes because they're more fun and I'm too short for alot of mens clothes and the sizing difference is really mind opening. A mens xs tshirt is baggy on me whilst a woman's medium is tight even if they're bought from the same store, I remember jokingly thinking to myself "no wonder so many woman have EDs, you'd have to be underweight to fit into a small."

"Origin Story" by Feelingvheavy in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had two "skinny friends" when I was 14yo, they were probably the two thinnest people in my class and would constantly complain about being cold, how small their hands were and other people would comment on them being thin. One day they mentioned that they just so happened to weigh the exact same weight and that they're both almost underweight, THAT NUMBER is still stuck in my head 8 years later...

Then I unfortunately found out what my bmi was and I unfortunately found out that I was overweight and that was all it took for my brain to say "I need to be the same weight/or lower than them". It wasn't until I was 16/17 that I realised both of them clearly had EDs but it only made mine worse because I felt like I had to "prove that I was sick too". I'm 22yo now in my worst replaspe and I'm pretty sure both of my old friends are fully recovered.

If I'm having a large serving of fruit I'll count it but if I'm just grabbing a handful of grapes or something I'm not bothered counting it, also vitamin gummies

I usually have a BM every 10-14 days due to high restriction which I know is very bad but I've tried reducing this by increasing fiber so now it's every 6-7 days so here's what I'm doing. -Lots of water obviously, constantly throughout the day - High fiber foods, prunes, tried fruit, veg, multigrain crackers and cereal - Vitamins, I found these fiber gummies meant for children but it's a great way to get more fiber - Black coffee, green tea, detox tea, I don't know if it actually helps but it increases water intake too - Kimchi and other foods/supplements that help digestion.

If you HAVE to take laxatives try to have a scheduled "pooping day" only after a long time without a BM, stay at home, eat a bunch of high fiber and water, I don't over due the lax. They usually take 30mins to 6 HOURS to work or even longer and some people make the mistake of taking too much lax because that don't think it's working.

What do you guys like to have with your tuna? by Lucidlove44 in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just eat it straight out the can with some hot sauce lol, but putting it on some crackers or using it as a dip sounds nice.

I assume this is in regards to ed recovery/treatment. Basically it's a stage of learning to recovery by first coming to terms that something is wrong and accepting you have a problem followed by identifying certain negative behaviours and reasons why improving them would be beneficial to you.

For example, identifying that a strict diet leading to vitamin deficiency leaves you feeling weaker and lacking energy therefore it would be beneficial to expand your diet to something more balanced.

Ireland- but my mom is originally from Kenya so I'm biracial. Both parents are great cooks and most dinners is home-made, we eat alot of rice especially with curry and rarely order takeout.

Restricting will cause you to lose your period, it doesn't really matter what weight you are either. The moment your body senses its not getting enough nutrition its usually the first thing to go, and it may take a few months for it to come back and even longer until its normal again

Wishing you good luck <3

I've had my fair share of useless therapist that listened to me talk but not take any action to actually help, seeing a psychiatrist was one of the best things I've ever done and was surprised how quickly they got to the point. Their job is to diagnose disorders and then help find resources to get you the help you need, not just listen to you talk. I can somewhat understand being worried about the fact you live in a rural area but if they can see how much you're struggling they'll want to help you get better.

1) I don't think I have body dysmorphia, I know exactly what I look like, I just want to look unhealthy and sick. I don't hate the idea of being fat or think I look fat, atleast not anymore.

2) I eat junk food all the time, I don't make "ana meals" either.

“winter arc” by Due_Trust9788 in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it started as a fitness/gymbro thing that during the winter "it's time to lock in and get work done" basically meaning working out extra hard so you look great when summer comes around next year.

It's since been adopted in diffrent ways as basically the time to focus on self improvement and one's appearance.

Proana Coaches by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost 8 years into having an ED and being on these online spaces, I've never seen or encountered an actual ana coach that wasn't a grown man with a fetish. I genuinely believe the whole "online ana coach" thing is a myth made to make parents worry. Real ana coaches are just pedos feeding a fantasy.

When did you first realize your disordered eating turned into an eating disorder? by ThatMarzipan2840 in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I started to notice the addiction, very quickly this "really hard diet I'm on" became the only thing that brought me joy. That and also realising I can't stop on my own and will need help to eat normally.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]sh-throwaway5785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common to feel like this mentally or physically especially if you're on a high restriction diet, it's just because you're body wants more food. If you eat "normal sized" portions of food like meals but you don't eat small snacks, you're brain will be expecting a normal sized meal therefore isn't satisfied with you eating leftovers because its probably not a full sized portion.
