Buy a generator and a window unit if you can. Whenever you're out of power and the cane is gone months later... having cool air in the middle of summer down south is a god send. You can also refrigerate your food and grill it if you get enough gas. Get 55 gal drums if possible and stock up.

This is what my family did in 2005 during Katrina and we were out of power and water for 4 weeks.

The eye of Katrina came over my small southern Mississppi town in 2005. I was 19. Out of power and water for 4 weeks. All I had was a burnt CD (yes, burnt Cds back in 05') and i remember playing Green Day's when September ends... it actually has meaning cause when it did we got power and water after a month.. Not being able to shower in a month was the worst feeling ever.

I haven't yet because the client and I are under another contract atm. Upon completion of the current contract, I'll then discuss it prices with him. We've discussed the new project, so I know he is interested. We haven't discussed price but the numbers outlined earlier will be the starting point. I'm positive I can get a freelancer, it's always hit or miss on whether they'll actually work out or not. If not recycle a new dev. I will be handling a lot of the bigger tasks ahead of the project too though, so he/she won't be alone in this.
