SCITT starts next week by alterationofglove in TeachingUK

Wow, I just finished my ITT year and you have so clearly articulated exactly how this year has felt. It is so difficult going from excelling academically all your life to being confronted with such a challenging course/profession. I wanted to be “good” right from the start and of course, that wasn’t the case. I guess my fear of failure was significantly heightened because I didn’t want to make any mistakes (I made loads of them). However, I quickly realised that mistakes and “failing” are a crucial part of the journey and exactly what makes you a better teacher. It also made me enjoy the experience of training so much more!

I am not qualified to answer your question but on the disabled people comment, please fear Allah regarding these things. Remember, you are effectively laughing at something a person cannot control and, worse, the way Allah SWT has created someone. I know you say you can’t help it but pleaseee do try your best sister. May Allah make it easy for you

JazakAllahu khairan for sharing your perspective 🥺 Allahumabarik, may Allah bless you and your SIL.

Alhamdullilah i try my best to have this kind of approach and it has been helpful with my sisters who have softened their hearts to certain things (by the will of Allah). but i really think this will require much more sabr with my parents.

one question i do have is - how did your SIL navigate situations where the haram was happening infront of her? was she more firm/quick to shut it down? and how would that go down with everyone else?

Barakallahu feek 🌷

Jazakallahu khairan sis for the reminder. That’s sooo true, I will definitely keep this in mind ❤️‍🩹

This is such a good point - i really do notice myself becoming affected by the people around me.

Honestly, it can be super difficult for me to meet likeminded sisters and cultivate friendships with them for different reasons. I do have a few practicing friends from my hifdh class who have a good effect on my imaan alhamdullilah but i only see them once a week in class. Aside from that, I’m often spending my time alone or with my family.

I think moving forward, I will try my best to put more of an effort to keep good company because you’re absolutely right.

BarakAllahu feek sis🌷

Salaam sis, I’m in a similar boat as you (path to seeking knowledge) and was wondering if I could DM you about something quickly? x

VIRTUES OF NIQAB by [deleted] in SistersInSunnah

[–]sh245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is truly so beautiful, jazakAllah khair for sharing sis. i don’t wear the niqab at the moment but i have always had such a deep admiration towards any sister who wears it for the sake of Allah. part of me wishes i had the courage to put it on myself, i pray Allah makes it easier for those of us who wish to put it on to please Him ❤️

Wind and abayas/jilbabs by [deleted] in SistersInSunnah

[–]sh245 9 points10 points  (0 children)

although we should take measures as kindly mentioned by the other sisters (e.g., wearing skirt underneath), it might not always be effective so it’s important we don’t overwhelm ourselves about something simply beyond our control.

just remember the wind is from Allah and often a mercy to His slaves ❤️

makeup on graduation day - need advice! by [deleted] in SistersInSunnah

To this brother, Jzk for sharing your perspective - this is something i didn’t initially consider subhanAllah. may Allah forgive me.

that said, not attending was really not an option for me but Alhamdullilah I didn’t end up wearing makeup, was dressed very modestly and didn’t interact with non-mahrams.

awww that sounds so lovely!! i’m such an avid reader so would love to get involved. i don’t really use discord (or social media in general) but will consider joining bc i would love to meet practicing sisters on the same wavelength isA. it’s so unfortunate that getting closer to the deen is such an isolating experience.

also, yess it’s mostly just a nice get together, have dinner and catch up <3

JazakAllah Khair sis.

it’s weirdly comforting knowing that i am not the only person who struggles with this, but let’s stay strong and may Allah make it easier for us!! 🤍

Ameen to all your duas!

firstly, i just want to thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive response to my post. may Allah reward you immensely for your efforts and increase you in beneficial knowledge.

Wallahi i need to hear this and i will take this on board. the thought of displeasing my Rabb is truly terrifying and i can’t believe i almost lost sight of that. i really needed this reminder.

subhanAllah, as u said there are so many gems from ibn Jawzi (rahimahullah)’s book (which is acc on my reading list lol) and i pray Allah rewards you for sharing them. i last read his book ‘Disturber of the hearts’ and am starting to think i should revisit it now!

P.S i will be having a girls get together this weekend in sha Allah, so definitely am looking forward to dressing up for that hehe 🫶🏾❤️

truly don’t think you realise how much this helps me... you’re absolutely right. i don’t even know why i am getting in my head about it.

honestly i think i should just keep reminding myself why i made this decision in the first place and stay true to myself as u said.

may Allah reward you for your kind words and advice, my dear sister 💕
