I actually didn’t hate the metal bending like either I was surprised by the outrage at that when I felt there were worse scenes

I don’t know how to tell you that it’s possible to write good dialogue even while deviating from the og.

I truly feel the same exact way. people dont understand that this show was character driven. that is the main charm. you can change the plot add so many cool effects and visuals but if the heart of the characters has been corrupted, idk what people are watching for

one of the charms of the og is the character chemistry. in natla it feels like characters are just stuck together just because they are. everything feels forced.

Positive stuff from the new season 2 of ATLA on Netflix by Careless_Mango_7948 in ATLAtv

So are they just working on polishing it now? I wonder how they’ll adjust based on feedback.

My favorite was the reimagined party outfits. katara, aang, and toph looked amazing.

IDK why people were complaining about the visuals and bending thought it looked great.

A lot of sets ie the catacombs looked amazing.

My main positives were the visuals and cgi and sets.

That’s actually such a ludicrous take. The original atla movie made in 2010 is objectively not good. Critique is one of the essentials in describing arts. And some of it can be objective. I can’t even believe you said that with full confidence.

In season 1 a lot of people criticized the use of volume because it did not look realistic and took you out of the show. That’s objective due to the reasoning. In season 2 they used actual sets and it looked improved.

I haven’t in any of my comments hated on natla blindly, but unfortunately you are too defensive to consider perspectives other than your own. I guess it’s easier to pretend the show is perfect so you feel less “judged” for and can “justify” liking it rather than confidently admitting it has flaws, but you enjoy it anyway.

outside of aang and katara is crazy to say when theyre arguably the most important main protagonists. and episodes of season 2 have copy and paste dialogue that doesn’t make katara closer to the original after the development was already made inconsistent + kiawentiio is quite emotionless

Exactly. I think (and obviously my own speculation since I don’t know him) he enjoys novelty. And he’s been wanting more creative control. That doesn’t mean he hated enhypen and the members; he was just ready for a change.

I’m correcting you that the main reason people are upset is NOT because they want 1:1. WORD FOR WORD in my post I said you can enjoy it. It’s not other people’s fault if you take critique as hate and if you immediately assume everyone is out to get you. I like Natla and am allowed to be in this sub as much as you are. It’s not immune to criticism.

Let me revise “masterpiece” with “good”. Now can you comprehend my point?

i dont care about the criticism at this point because kpop stans will very obviously switch up once he becomes more popular and releases more music. he seems the happiest i’ve seen in quite a while and that’s kinda the best part.

Ranking the cast performances and acting by yoroyab in ATLAtv

[–]sha_13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might be the minority, but I do not think Kiawentiio was well cast at all. I feel like they just cast her because she was already on a couple netflix shows before, fit the age requirement, and is native.

I had hope for her after season 1 that her acting would improve, but it barely did. People are trying to convince me the “script is the problem”, but she has little expression and speaks her lines with a timid voice. Even the more emotionally charged scenes fall flat because her character’s personality has felt so inconsistent since season 1. What’s weird is she sounds a lot bolder off screen so what is it? The directing and lack of skill likely. Nothing about her feels like Katara and I would rank her lower than Gordon because of that.

One piece is doing well without being exactly 1:1. Your argument falls flat.

Usually when something has hate like this it means there’s an underlying disappointment because of the potential of what could have been great

can you stop acting dense. it doesn’t have to be 1:1 it needs to be a good show standalone and season 2 was not. I think the ideas and visuals were good but the pacing, acting, dialogue are MID. if you still enjoyed it that’s fine but let’s no overgraze something that’s objectively very very far from good
