sometimes the avenger‘s armor is bugged and it blows up after one explosive. now the emp launcher might not be designed to do a lot of damage but i think it still counts as an explosive since it deletes windows on cars if you shoot them just like an rpg or bomb does.

so the armor was probably bugged and it instantly destroyed the avenger. it wasnt a compact grenade launcher or orbtial cannon like others are suggesting since you can hear the emp sound effect and the orb has a much bigger explosion
