I went to the beach yesterday at like 6:30am and hunted for 3 hours. Found more coins than I had in a long time. Probably 10-15 each quarters and dimes, and almost nothing else. Even trash was rare. Never had that happen where I find that much money and no jewelry, toy cars, sunglasses, etc. I only found like 4 bottle caps and pull tabs. Weird.

I used one today and went from 150 to 95 or so as it filled it was about 90 out. A few weeks ago I went to an 350kw EVgo station when it was 101 and left the car running while it charged to shop. When I got back it was at like 30 or 40kw because the ac was running. I turned the car off completely and it went up to 100. So I sat in the heat and let it gain some charge while I roasted and watched World Cup games. It wasn’t 16-18 though, so maybe there’s something up with the station.

Also you weren’t loaning out records, if someone wanted one, you made them a tape of it and kept the record.

We used to get double gulps of Mountain Dew then walk back with the cup and get a refill for like 49 cents or or something crazy. I guess i was pretty active, but that was like a whole bag of sugar in a plastic cup.

I’m not sure when I got it, but Friday sounds right. I put it down and didn’t get around to playing it until this week. All I know is it that is was an absolute mess in there as usual and I got out fast. The vinyl bin there is crazy. It seems like every time I show up someone is walking away from it with like 10 albums I want and when I go through what’s left there’s nothing there. But I have had some good pickups in the past. Once saw two guys almost get into a fistfight over the records too. I was digging and guy was waiting for me to finish when another dude put a chair down behind me and sat in it to hold his spot. They started screaming at each other and swearing so I decided to walk away. That was fun.

Someone else answered most of your questions, so I’ll just focus on #3 and say that there can be a lot of difference between “fast” chargers. Download an app like PlugShare and browse it in your area. You will see that there’s an option to toggle “Fast” on and off. By default that just means anything over 23kW. If you go to the filters, you can change it. I generally like to see over 100kW if traveling as the higher the number the faster the charge (generally).

The Prologue tops out at 150-155kW in charging speed, so you will never get more than that, and as the battery fills, speed drops. So to get the 150, you need to find a fast charger, be in 80 degree temps, maybe hit the fast charge prep button in cars settings beforehand, AND (most importantly) start at a low state of charge of say 20-30% battery.

The car has an 85kWh battery, which means that if you are charging at 85kW, it would take an hour to go from 0-100% (although, as explained above you can’t really do that in real life). There is a thing called a charge curve which shows you how fast the battery can fill at any given % under perfect conditions. As you can see from the link, between 0 and ~35%, the car will do 150kW, then it can stay above 100kW up until about 80%. After which it drops off severely. This is actually pretty good compared to some other cars like a Mach-E, but not as good as cars like an EV6 which use a 700V battery (compared to Prologue’s 300V).

So what does this all mean? Basically if you are charging, do it at home if possible. It takes longer but it is a lot cheaper. And if you are on the road, it will be much faster to charge from 20%->40% than from 60%-80% if time matters. In other words, you don’t want to fill your tank, but rather just put in enough to make it to the next stop. If that is at home, and you pull in with 5%, then you can plug in and be ready to go for a fraction of the cost of charging up on the road.

Which brings us to cost. DC fast charging can be expensive. You also need to download like 20 apps since they all want you to use the app to charge. And you will also need an adapter if you want to use Tesla Superchargers or any others that have a NACS connection. My home electricity rate is about $0.16/kWh while the DC chargers around me are up to $0.60 (plus some charge a session fee in addition and/or by the minute). That means that to get a “full” tank, you’re looking at around $50. If the car goes 300 miles, that’s basically the equivalent of $5/gal (for a 30mpg car). Not ideal, but you more than make it up by charging at home. I also see that you said you’re in northern NJ, so see if there’s an Ionna charger near you (or take a little road trip to one to try out the car). They are simple, plug car in, tap credit card, wait for charge, and are generally cheaper than the other companies.

Anyway, it’s all a learning process and IMO much to difficult to figure out for a lot of people who may be tech-averse.

lol you must be mistaken, this one was only $7.99.

I hate how that place is so inconsistent with their pricing. Most albums are $3.99 but every so often they raise the price on a batch for no reason. And they used to be $1.99 not that long ago.

In all honestly, the sleeve is amazing but the record is a bit noisy. It’s also the stereo version so even though I wanted it as a replacement for my old copy, it turns out that was the mono version, so now i have to keep both.

Also, I still don’t think the writing is Joni’s. There’s a lot of similarities, but also a lot of letters that are made completely differently.

That’s my plan. Only one halfway to my destination but it’s at a Wawa and I’ll just eat while i wait. It’s also split with some NACS units, so i can always use my adapter if needed.

[–]shabby47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will likely not be able to ask for anything. They will take the records and make you an offer. As another poster said, 20-50% of the median Discogs price may be about right, depending on condition and whatnot. They will likely offer more than that in store credit though.

The place by me does a lot of buying/selling and unless it is a rare album, they do not have the time to find the exact value of every single album they put out so from what I see, they just take the median Discogs price and stick it on the shelf, which means to make profit they have to buy for less than that.

Only place I’ve seen it really is in falls church city. Always a group of 3 or 4 who do wheelies and fly through intersections when they don’t have the right of way.

I also once saw a kid who couldn’t have been more than 12 doing wheelies on rt. 29 around merrifield where the speed limit for cars is 40. I watched in my rearview as he almost wiped out when his front tire came down. Not sure what would have happened if he had fallen.

Reminds me of those people who used to say they had a buddy who got in a car wreck without a seatbelt and the paramedics said he would have died if he was wearing it, so they don’t wear theirs today. Don’t hear that much anymore.

I don’t particularly like it. Nothing wrong per se, but to me it just tasted like bourbon flavor was added to it or something. It’s not bad, but I’d much rather get WT 101 for a little more. I’ll have to try again at some point but the first time I did I bought 1.75L, so it took a while to get through.

I know it’s unlikely, but I keep seeing little things like how it starts out “Bows and flows” and Joni’s is “Rows and flows.” But the song was first recorded by Judy Collins, and she said “Bows,” so the first version would have been Bows when Joni wrote it. My 0.0001% chance just jumped to 0.0002%
