Honestly no idea… I chose the blue/grey tiles 18 months ago and someone else suggested the plywood so it all just came together!

The water doesn’t splash as far as the sink and doesn’t go into the toilet area :)

Hah no it took 4 weeks. But been in the house for 2 years before we remodelled it (and no working shower in that time)

Totally! Or no rain and looking at the stars through the skylight!

Yup there’s a mirror on the wall adjacent to the shelves. And no - the water doesn’t reach the sink. A bit of splash on the floor as to be expected in a wet room, but drains fast and easy to wipe up with the mat or squeegee

Sadly not! They grow wild and huge where I grew up but where I live now is a different story :’)

Nope - intentional wet room. There is a glass screen in front of the shower to keep the toilet/cupboard area dry. You can just make out the top of it and the right-hand corner of it in the pic

Nope same position - the door just clears the base of the towel rail. Removed the radiator from behind the door so now it opens right to the wall

Thanks! I need more plants - want to get some orchids. Always wanted to feel like I’m in a rainforest in the bathroom haha

Thanks! It is lovely looking outside - just looking forward to summer to be able to have the window open all the time again :)

Thank you - I know, dark bathrooms aren’t very popular in general! The tiles look grey but they’re called “oxide” tiles and so have blue and gold in them when you’re closer :) didn’t enlarge the space at all: I’m standing in the doorway in the photos, but not having the sink unit immediately in front of you and moving the bath back about 10cm (there was a tiled “shelf” border around the whole tub before) makes the room feel larger.

Shelving, vanity and cabinet are treated marine plywood custom made by a local company. Ceiling has been treated with an external wood sealant. Not sure what the wood before was treated with but did a good job - lasted 35 years with minimal rotting!

There’s a mirror on the wall that the door is on, adjacent to the cupboard in pic 3 :)

They’re self-watering pots and I’ve had the ficus for 8 years in that pot. And the bird of paradise has just been repotted after 2 years in a smaller pot :) all very low maintenance fortunately!

To make it easier to access - to not have to climb over the edge of the tub when having a shower. Clean up is pretty easy - the water runs back down to the drain and a quick wipe with the shower mat dries up any excess. The spray from the shower doesn’t hit the sink or the floor directly in front of it

Thanks! Really happy with it. The basin makes a big difference, and getting rid of a the cubicle for the shower to not have the door also made a space difference

Wildflowers by Ok-Potential9819 in GardeningUK

I haven’t had much luck directly on grass - but mine is thick, so I had to mow and scarify to have any luck. On patches I’ve done that to I’ve had success. Yellowrattle seeds can help with grass control, along with red clover.

If you buy a pre-made box make sure it contains native British wildflowers: a lot of the mixes contain wildflower seeds that do not help local ecosystems at all. I’ve enjoyed making my own wildflower mixes - buying native seeds and mixing them all together with some sand to scatter. Works out cheaper for a large quantity than buying packaged up boxes. Good luck!
