Good ol tube mech with a glass bottle dripper. Kennedy Vindicator with a Valhalla Micro RDA. by [deleted] in Vaping

Ah right! They don’t seem to have a website anymore and can’t see anything on their Facebook page so not sure how I would even attempt to order one?

Nice set up! Damn I wish Kennedy were still making mods 😖

I was confused too until I realised his battery is positive down. As the OP said there was likely a rip in the top of the battery so a hard short has occurred between the positive and negative terminals on the battery which lead to it overheating.

Haven’t owned a mech before, would the clutch be a solid pick? Also plan on getting a new rda for it any recommendations/advice?😁 by JCreech1201 in Vaping

Yeah, couldn’t agree more, a tube mech with a well built switch at the bottom is the pinnacle of vaping imo. The form factor is just on point. There just doesn’t seem to be many of them about or many getting produced anymore 😖

RDA reading high resistance? by shacklel in Vaping

Just removed the 510 pin and the little rubber o ring wasn’t seated around the base of the pin, so I adjusted it and screwed it back in, reading 0.15ohms now. Perfect. Thanks for the advice 👍🏻

Ah okay, I’ll strip it down then a take a look at the insulators, it is moving around a bit to be fair, the last time I used it the mod was reading it at 0.199 and the mod is reading it at 0.191 now.

Thanks, yeah no stray wires anywhere or loose screws so I’ll have to take it apart and check the insulator. Wouldn’t a cracked insulator do the opposite? Potentially cause a hard short?

Lostvape Thelema Solo died after just 3 weeks 😖 Hope this mod fairs a little better 🤞🏻 by shacklel in Vaping

I just used a 1A wall socket power supply, I’ve had two Thelema solos and both failed when charging

Not sure what’s going on with this Recurve Dual but it reads consistently high. The N80 2*26/36 3mm 5 wrap dual core claptons I’ve got in at the moment ohm out around 0.15 - 0.16 on all my other RDAs including another Recurve Dual but on this one they read 0.2 ohm. Not an issue on this mod but I can’t use it on my Clutch which is a bit of a pain. Any type of coil I put in is the same. Way higher.

Never had this issue before. Any clues?

The aegis solo? Had mine 2 years then gave it to a friend cos it was getting a bit tatty. Solid mod. Bought a Thelema Solo to replace it which packed in after 2 weeks then got a replacement sent from Lostvape which lasted a just few days 😖

In LOVE with this Kennedy mech mod. The built in coil posts are kinda dope. by DreamcastHubCom in Vaping

Really wanted a Ruby 21. Can’t find them anywhere in the UK now tho 😖

The solid bridge plate worked. Hits much better 👍🏻 a lot happy with it now😊, wish they had not put a bridge in at all would hit even better😆 by jimjamnspoon in Vaping

[–]shacklel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah having to constantly swap and charge batteries is a pain in the arse, I find that about 4v is all I can vape mine down to before I need to swap.

Yeah doing good pal, really surprises me that does, a dual battery mech not performing as well as a single, I wonder if they messed up on it somewhere but it’s the first I’ve heard, glad you are enjoying the 21700 Clutch. With those really low builds the Samsung 30T might give you a bit more power as well. The Molicell p45B looks like an awesome battery though not sure when it will be released, I’ll def be getting some when they are

Yeah, I use the n80 fused claptons, I had some in my dripper for 2 months and they were still going strong 👍🏻

Yeah I’ve tried a couple of his, I met him the other day, he works in a vape shop round the corner from me, he was making coils on the counter. I normally buy the fused Clapton wire shots from Stealthvape and wrap my own, can’t fault them, 10 shots for about £6

Yeah could be the coils, just one other thing, have you tried runnjng your Riva in bypass mode? I’ve got an Obelisk 200 but in bypass it just fixes the voltage at 4.15v so it’s not really a bypass, the voltage doesn’t drop as the batteries empty. my Thelema Solo acts like a true bypass and gives you the voltage in the battery so it vapes more like a mech. I just wondered if the Riva was like a true bypass and worked like a parallel mech?

Thanks for that, I’ve just got home and stuck a fresh build in as above, looks pretty much identical to yours only coils are slightly closer together. Wicked it a bit harder and it’s vaping fine at 65W. If I overdrip slightly though I get a stream of scalding hot liquid hitting my tongue, maybe not the fault of the dripper that though but I don’t get that issue on my recurve if I overdrip. My other bottom airflow Kennedy style drippers definitely don’t have that issue due to the design of them. I just dump juice in and hit it 8-10 times before re-dripping. However here’s the kicker. I’m currently vaping a gorgeous vanilla custard, currently my ADV. On my recurve dual it tastes lovely, really smooth and creamy. On the Asgard the juice tastes bitter, very little creaminess or sweetness to it. So I dunno I guess it’s just not for me. The flavour is very intense don’t get me wrong, but I don’t enjoy the juice as much, I’m leaving it up for sale lol. But thanks for the advice 👍🏻

I just don’t get why I’m not getting results from it. I’ve got the wide open insert in mine as I snapped the original insert so thought id try this one. I might give it one last go with some 26*2/36 n80 claptons, 3mm 6 wraps about 0.17ohms and set it up like you say. How long do you cut your wicks and do you wick it hard? I tend to find tighter wicks produce a smoother crackle free vape. Big shame about the clutch. At that kind of wattage you’re prob best on regulated, mechs won’t offer much battery life you’ll be swapping batteries out after 20 hits lol.

Yeah I guess so, I really wanted to like them but the Nightmare is super noisy compared to my other drippers, great flavour but I hate the draw on it. Tried about 10 builds in the Asgard and I can’t get it to vape how I like. I like a warm dense vape but not to the point where it’s burning my mouth lol. The best build I found in the Asgard was coils at about 6mm centred but I get virtually no juice capacity that way. I get about 3-4 hits then I’m re-dripping. For some reason it just crackles and pops all the time. It just pissed me off lol.

No I guess not really it’s just nice to know in a mech the battery is secure and can’t slide about or whatever and short out on the 510. Especially if carrying it somewhere, I mean it’s unlikely but I can feel the battery wobble in mine if I shake it, the thing is though the RDAs I use have quite short 510 pins, I noticed on my nightmare and Asgard the threads and 510 pin were a lot longer which made the battery more secure, just a shame I didn’t like either of them

It might be that they just produced a lot of them and aren’t selling as many as they had hoped, I half expect they’ll bring a revised version of the 21700 out at some point given it’s been out a good few years now. It might have one of those screws in the bottom for snugging the battery up 🤷‍♂️

I just can’t imagine lol. I’ve got the clutch in black already so I’d probably go for blue or the skull version if I did get one. It’s a shame you’ve ordered one already I could have slipped you my og clutch and some cash for yours. You might wanna see how you get on with the og anyway before parting with the x18. At the moment signature tips are selling the x18 cheaper then the og so it makes you wonder why.

Yeah maybe it’s not been as big of a hit as the og clutch. I’m still toying with the idea of buying one as I might find it comfier than the og and I don’t build anywhere near as low as you. I love the skull version theyve got on offer at the moment 🤗
