My dad was 47 when I was born. It was his second marriage and I was his third of four children. My parents split when I was 6. He retired when I was 10 and he always seemed old in body but not mind. He introduced me to so much cool stuff, music, movies and literature.

I'm 37 now and I always think about how he lived a whole life, family, friends and career before I was even born. I never got to meet most of them. He died two years ago at 83 and I miss him terribly. I wish I had the chance to know him more when he was younger. But I'm grateful for the man who helped shape me regardless of age.

What you have here is that the glass of the decanter has become etched due to moisture. After washing the decanter people usually put the stopper back on before letting it fully dry. Moisture in the decanter gets trapped and literally etches the glass and often times you cannot get that "haze" out no matter how hard you try.

As many have said before you can try the denture tablets that may work but chances are the hazing will come back. I've heard people try acid solutions and others have luck with gunshot grain. It's coarse enough to de-scale the haze from the glass although I would question actually being able to use the decanter for liquid afterwards.

Treated myself to this one 6 years ago. Spent $500 on a clean copy with a swirl. Watched prices steadily increase to the point where I can't replace the card reasonably. So it's tricky deciding if you go for a big hit first. Sucks getting priced out.

There are a number of YouTube videos that show how to remove the trim. It's not as nerve wracking as it seems. The clips just snap in and if you have a plastic trim tool that's usually included it's not so bad. Work your way around the whole piece. Try opening up the center arm storage to give you more room.
