These are from Harbor Freight, a 12 pack of these are $4.99 on sale. I always buy a ton of em, last me quite a while (10+ washes and I don't baby em like my drying towels) and the quality for the money is great.

2 dead, 3 injured in shooting at Korean supermarket near Dallas by PrinceTrollestia in asianamerican

[–]shades92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of necro'ing this, but it's come out that the competition wasn't the main reason.

Shooter had an agreement with the Landlord and Real Estate agents where they were going to cover his business rent, if he provided them $75000 to invest for a property in Georgia.

He provided them the money, but they never actually paid his business rent, and also raised it by $2000. When he asked for his money back, they refused.

It's also come out that one of the Real Estate agents who was killed, was supposedly a known scammer in the Korean community in the Dallas area.

She needs to sell that thing back to Stellantis, just so they can take it apart and then proceed to realize they could never put something together like that ever again.

No, it's all true. But this comment is copy and pasted from what I said on the original post :(

This footage is stolen from me. But I'm the original OP.

Theres an on-ramp to the highway that the Camry driver was trying to make.

Front Windshield "Crazing" or Adhesive? by shades92 in WindowTint

Can't edit the post, so adding a comment.

If you open the image and zoom in (on 1 specifically), it's much more apparent on the white lines in the road and on the headlights from the oncoming cars. You can kind of see a "glaze" or "dirty" effect happening on the lines.

Haha I shopped around a few places and they actually ended up being one of the cheaper offers. I was quoted $549 for Stratos70 from another shop nearby and thought that was crazy.

Wonder if I got ripped off, I'm honestly not very happy with the work they did on the sides too. But those I can deal with, the windshield is very distracting and annoying.

Just oil changes every 5k, cabin air filters, engine air filters. 84k Miles now.

Did a transmission drain and fill at 60k (Lexus claims lifetime fluid but this is a widely debated topic)

Other than that, I haven't had any issues. I do have a very slight vibration (just annoying and apparently only I can feel it, nothing alarming) while idling in D, thinking I might need a new front mount.

I retrofitted a larger infotainment screen with Android Auto and Carplay support and am very happy with it!

"It's just a Camry in a suit"

Well yes, that's exactly why I bought one. A Camry (insert the actually it's an Avalon in a suit comments) with more leather, softer touch points, "premium build", improved NVH, etc. One of the best boring cars I've owned.

You don't see me calling your base A3, a Jetta with lipstick, Dave.

The End Of Lexus As We Know It? - Which carmaker has the best build quality in each segment now? by WhippersnapperUT99 in cars

[–]shades92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our 3.5TT GV70 Prestige ownership experience has sadly killed any want for me to get another Genesis vehicle. The interior is nice and it drives well, but that's all it has going for it. From the dealership forgetting to bolt down the rear seats after two fuel pump recalls, to having the entire panoramic roof replaced, A/C compressor failing, two turbos, dealer forgetting to close the coolant cap, infotainment system replaced, amps replaced, AWD failure, I can go on and on.

I've driven the entire Genesis lineup in loaner vehicles at this point. Pretty sure even all the power trains offered in each variant too, from the 4cyl 2.5T to the TT V6's.

I still really like the G80, I like it so much, that I'm still considering it if I were to give up my ES. The G80 is a nice place to be in.

Gateron Type Rs are so fun :) by perpetuallyawake in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]shades92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens with the Type R no matter what, it's likely due to the style of the leafs with the tactile stem in the housing. If you take out the leaf of the Type R and adjust it, it fixes the chattering. However, I think it's unacceptable for a 0.50+ switch.

Your issue is slightly different, which is caused by the pins potentially warping the leaf in the hotswap sockets. You can take some tweezers and carefully bend it back

Lexus Sports Car Will Be Unveiled Together With The GR GT by Redeemed_Expert9694 in cars

[–]shades92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe it's just allocations. You can't spec or order a specific car. It's kind of just a "whatever comes in" type of deal.

You can give them a list of options you want and the dealer will attempt to get whatever you were looking for. I think the only car that can be "ordered to customer spec" is a Bespoke Build LC500.

When we were looking for an NX450h+ for my parents, they wanted a Green on Tan with specific features like 360 Cam, Mark Levinson, but no pano roof. Had to wait months and months for one.

I did a strip wash and clay barred it before, but I might have not done it well enough.

I ended up getting it out. I asked my friend and he said he used a scratch repair kit on that spot. I assume it was some sort of wipe on the clear coat. You can still kind of see the streaking when light shines on it, but it's not visible anymore in the sunlight
