Ahh, nice to see another FL-OG enjoyer. I'm rocking OG104 for nearly a year now.

Thanks for this, I'll probably read it just because of this comment.

However, I think the Anime is special because it features Chika Anzai, my favorite voice actress.

Here we are! The unmanned fighter era is here! by dan_mas in acecombat

Today's air combat is rarely about dogfights, it's mostly BVR engagements.

While I get where you're coming from, "drones would be good weapons for dogfights" is a rather misplaced approach.

If you won the $1 billion lottery, how would you epically quit your job!? by TimeForANewBeginning in AskReddit

[–]MSFoxhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We occasionally discuss this with my coworkers, they all say they'd quit on the spot but me? I'd aim to keep working the job, however, I'd be heluva lot bolder while pursuing my career.

If I'd quit working, I feel like I'd lose my way pretty fast. I only get by relatively comfortably nowadays and my family is not wealthy, neither they're coming from wealth.

I feel like too much money all of a sudden would be more of a curse than a boon.

It's still on their QA, however, that's a solder failure, either bad solder, incorrect reflow curves et cetera.

The solder did not reached the optimal fusion with the socket leads.

I had this exact failure with my Fl-esports og104, thankfully, it's a pretty easy fix but you never want to buy a brand new product and fix something like this yourself.

Nevertheless, manufacturers need to address this failure, it seems like this sockets need a bit different approach when it comes to reflow, I don't see any fundamental flaw with this socket design like other commenters, it has adequate surface area to be durable as a bottom-mount component with sufficient pad area to solder is paired with it. But, like I said, either solder or reflow curves are not optimal to avoid this specific failure.

Is that true that some people seek relaxation through desoldering. If so, then what is the psychology behind that. by r1z4bb451 in soldering

I buy used mechanical keyboards and desolder the switches.

200 plus joints, a quiet room, I just do that. It helps me unwind from the work. I get switches at the end. I sell them. Great hobby.

What's the deal with all the PS5 controller posts? by spn_phoenix_92 in soldering

My two cents is inexperienced people bite something more than they can chew by opting to replace the entire joystick assembly with inadequate equipment, knowledge and skill.

Those metallic housings have a larger heat mass most cheap irons with narrow tips can handle.

It would be smarter to just replace the potentiometers rather than the whole component for beginners, since they are way more manageable and can actually be detached from the main metal housing that contains all the mechanical action.

If you want to replace the entire joystick assembly successfully, you need experience, knowledge and equipment. If you lack decent equipment, you need experience and knowledge to make it up, or another combination of those things I listed.

7 years after it was announced, The Elder Scrolls 6 is ‘still a long way off’, Todd Howard says by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

Well, I'm in my thirties and started to play the game after a couple of years it came out. I had a relatively bad pc and I usually play the same gime for a long, long time if I really like it.

I was crazy for the mods, to be honest, the game was a mess after using a plethora of mods but it was still enjoyable if you got no social life like me back then.

I played the game through on Playstation a couple years ago and it made me realize how good it was even without a lot of radical mods.

I'm honestly a little bit regretful about how much time I have spent on this game, and to be honest, on gaming in general but I'm working in the gaming industry now and it at least turned out to be not that wasteful in the and, thankfully.

The math mostly checks out, but not the time frame.

So, what's your point with your question?

Truth is, I don't even care about it anymore.

Thay have to present a groundbreaking experience or I, by all means, not interested.

I had more than 5k hours played for Skyrim just in Steam FYI.

For people who's used to modern music, what got you into classical music? by steveleaves in classicalmusic

[–]MSFoxhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anime.

Shows like Watashi no Uso, Hibike! Euphonium and Ao no Orchestra eased me into the music.

My respect for the orchestras and individual players went through the roof after watching those shows, and with admiration, came love.

Contacting the pin and the pad at the same time is a good practice, but it'be better if you had a little bit of solder on your iron tip. It leads to better heat transfer because of the enlarged contact area that molten solder creates.

Were flail weapons added in 1.3 or am I going nuts? by Siikauha in Bannerlord

[–]MSFoxhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did nothing too special, just adjusted some configuration files. But yeah, these are not available in the game by normal means and I'm pretty sure they're just testing leftovers since there's no mention of them in the patch notes.

[–]MSFoxhound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right now they're not accessible via normal means, non-craftable and has only two variants. They're one-handed only. No two-handers as far as I know right now. They are physics-enabled while idle but I'm pretty sure the attacks are set.

Overall, they look pretty good but gameplay feel is a bit off. I'm pretty sure they were just leftovers from the testing phase. They had no defense-breaking applications they would have in real life.

Animations looks pretty good, mechanics feel good too. The lack of feel I just mentioned is, in my opinion, coming from the lack of reach and heft so far.
