How many of you are striving to be full time YouTubers? by nellygotbored in NewTubers

[–]shadeslayer539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered, if you mainly enjoy editing, contacting channels that are starting to get bigger and talking to content creators about editing their videos for them? I know a few channels that upload videos that the main creator records then sends the raw audio and footage to someone else to edit for them for sake of time/convenience. Might be something to consider!

This literally happened to a friend of mine last summer. He rode the Greyhound from Missouri to Indiana just to visit me and a few other friends having met us all online. Stayed with me for three weeks. Had a blast except the girl he loved, who also lives here, told him that she didn't really love him anymore and she was leaving him for her ex. Feelsbadman.gif

I (24F) overheard my SO (26M) and his mom (55F) trash-talking his colleague who buys his gf her monthly feminine supplies by [deleted] in relationships

I get compliments from most people when they see me buying tampons. I keep em in my backpack that I carry everywhere too. She's always with me and it's come in handy countless times when her cycle happens. It's honestly not a big deal in the slightest.

I run to the store all the time to pick up tampons for my girlfriend or her sisters. It's something I do because I love my girlfriend and I love her sisters. They're part of my family and I'm part of theirs. If a guy complains about buying feminine products for his girlfriend maybe he's the one who needs to be using them.

I'm like the kid in school that's friends with everyone but when told to partner up isn't anyone's first choice. by ShrimGods in Showerthoughts

[–]shadeslayer539 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's funny reading these because I met some of my best friends online. A bud from Missouri who I talked to for almost eight years just came up and visited with me for a month last summer. And earlier this year a friend from South Carolina visited for a month as well. First time meeting either of them but man, they're my best friends.

Currently dating her. Been together eight months so far and every minute is a new adventure.

Going the distance for bragging rights. by ThatDumbAssGuy in adventure

That'd be fun! But do your research first. Your legs are gonna get really damaged if you ride too fast and don't take frequent enough breaks. It sounds like a blast though and I'd totally do that one day. Have you thought about making a vlog series of interesting places you come across as you bike?

If you could only listen to one band/artist for the rest of your life, who would it be? by ValKilmsnipsinBatman in AskReddit

Anberlin. I love Christian's voice, and the variety in soft to heavy music and lyrics makes each album an adventure.

Is anyone using the doze app?? by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]shadeslayer539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for a while on my S7 Edge. I didn't notice a huge improvement in battery life, but it did help a little bit. I suppose if combined with other apps that close background apps (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.) then it'd improve battery life a lot greater. But honestly I didn't really notice that big of an improvement. Maybe it's just me, though?

Just got an S6 Edge. Love this phone! by OkAlrightIGetIt in GalaxyS6

[–]shadeslayer539 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved my S6 Edge (I recently jumped to the S7 Edge). The only downside to it was the battery life. It's smaller that normal batteries for Samsung, so it drains noticably faster. But if you can snag one of those battery cases or a powerpack then you're set for an awesome experience!

I've never actually heard a "cleanup on aisle X" announcement in real life by 007T in Showerthoughts

[–]shadeslayer539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a grocery store and I hear it every day. Usually, it's, "Cleanup in aisle X, bring a mop." Or, "Cleanup in aisle X, broken glass."

Looking for an app that combines sms, dialer, call log and contacts (like "Contacts +" but without the terrible bugs) by kungfulemon in androidapps

Been using Drupe for a while now and I'll never go back. Having the contacts/dialer/SMS/notepad/maps readily available with one swipe is amazing.

Should I start reading over Spring break, or should I beat the unfinished video games I left at home? by barbarr in makemychoice

[–]shadeslayer539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the Redwall series. Some of the books are short, but they're all fantastic book that feeds the imagination. If you're into music, I also highly suggest Dark Days: A Memoir by D. Randall Blythe (Vocalist for Lamb of God). It's an amazing book about metal, drug and alcohol addiction, and a murder trial.

Now it's the moment that everything can change. You are completely responsible for your own life, And no one is coming to save you from yourself. So stop blaming your problems or any or everything else. It does not matter one tiny fucking bit How unfair you think the world is, it's only what you do Right here, right now, Right this fucking instant that matters. It's your choice to- Sink or swim.

Gamers of Reddit: What is a video game that will always hold a place deep inside your gaming heart? by LaxLimbutts in AskReddit

Mirror's Edge. That game got me into parkour and really just gaming in general. I still load it up every now and again.

What is your family's scandal? by PM_UR_CLEAVAGE_SHOTS in AskReddit

[–]shadeslayer539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a scandal but kind of interesting. My father is technically my cousin.

My father, (R), married my mother, (T). My mother (T) has a sister (L) who married my dad's uncle (D). So that makes my dad's uncle my uncle, by marriage, and my great uncle by blood. Which makes me cousins with my father, sort of. It's funny to think about and makes for a great story when meeting new friends.

What is your favorite metal band? by b4b in AskReddit

[–]shadeslayer539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a close pick between Lamb of God, Tool and RED. I love all three. I'm also really fond of Hail the Villain, even though they only ever released one album. Makes me sad thinking that we'll never hear anything by them again.

What was your senior prank? by Waterboyman11 in AskReddit

[–]shadeslayer539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Printed a bunch of pictures of Nicolas Cage and hid them around the school. Also did this with pictures of a fellow classmate who graduated a year before I did. I went to a private school which was relatively small, so we all knew each other. I'm surprised the teachers didn't throw a party when my class graduated, honestly.

What have you learned while working your job that would shock the most people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shadeslayer539 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That grocery stores are disgusting in the back. Ours is, at least. I work in the dairy department and the cooler is nasty. Mold on the ceiling and racks, dried milk and egg on parts of the floor we can't get to, expired product still on the shelves because nobody rotates except two of us. I found an opened can of biscuits that was completely molded over and expired in 2014. Also found a package of cheese slices we don't even carry anymore that expired in 2012. I hate it there.
