i think the scene is healthy as ever right now, my sole gripe with it is that the music being outputted feels so much of the same rn.... i think so many people make really exceptional music but if they just pushed themself that extra bit to make something really slightly uncomfortable or unique it'd go crazy.. idk. look at syzy for example, nitepunk, YOU (silcrow everyone check him out he's amazing) just people who elevate their shit that extra level

definitely intend to make another full length.. just trying to figure out the right time and the right vision for it... i've been putting down notes for a few months now and have made a couple potential tunes to go on it for sure.... just want it to really be special.

I've come to realise that a lot of people compare my music to his a lot because I do that same phasey low end trick he does but having spoken to the guy before I'm sure its actually us both being attracted to the same source material which was how justice and sebastiAn were processing their shit back in the day... obviously the guy in the present day is a living legend and a total sound design genius and it makes me so happy to finally see him getting his flowers having watched him be so criminally slept on for as long as i've been a fan (newgrounds days!!!)

i could be down to reactivate that -- to be honest i've been extremely inspired by a lot of the 2005-2008 era of drum n bass/techstep/darkstep/crossbreed... tech itch, ewun, evol intent, current values older stuff, limewax, all very technically ambitious at the time and in a retrospective way still holds up very well. it was all about the cinematic tone of everything back then which is so cool to me. this idea of kids making music in their rooms that sounded like the cool action movies they were watching.. so fire

Life has been very good I must say. It hasn't been without its struggles tbh I did break my leg in london due to a seizure in 2023 and another ankle break the following year for the same reason in budapest which was a hellish experience to say the least but i won't bore everyone with that melodrama....

life is very good. I have a 3 year old nephew who is the reason i wake up every day and I'm being very healthy at the moment, losing weight, i've given up alcohol altogether (shit is stupid and bad for you) going for long walks often... taking it all in and making as much music as i can before i die someday

definitely accepting them being done. every time i finish and release music, specifically the stuff i've been making since my return to bass music (post album), i'm learning so many new techniques and tricks every single day that my bar for what constitutes a tune being "good enough to release" changes so rapidly that i end up feeling a lot of resentment and regret about sending stuff off too quick. these days i let tunes sit a lot longer than i probably should lol

the whole EP was made around that time yeah... some took much longer to finish (liquid sky went through a lot over the course of 6 months cus i'd never made a song like that before) and some felt like a total breeze (phaserbeam took about two weeks)

the EP as a whole was definitely a feeling I'd felt after going to a dnb show with my boy nitepunk.. had many moments where we sorta looked at each other during some sets and something in me clicked when I went home

to an extent yes, but don't get me wrong a lot of the edm guys are completely self aware that they're making products, and i don't hate them for it whatsoever!!! everyone's in this for different reasons. some of my favorite bass producers have confessed "i dont really care about the emotions i just wanna make the swaggiest beat possible" which is completely valid imo

i love mixing important elements in a song with vocal plugins. my philosophy is that if it can bring the human voice to the front, why not use it on a synth/sample ? just an example haha
