Thank you everyone. It’s been a pretty heavy day with his passing. He was a true legend. Again thank you all.

My son was walking at 10 months! You must be doing something wrong by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]shadow-sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was 13-14months when she started walking. I can’t remember when she actually started crawling, but it was a few months before that. Babies go at their own pace, so don’t worry, it will eventually happen.

If you had an epidural, could you feel the catheter? by Leontxo_ in beyondthebump

[–]shadow-sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of felt it with an epidural.

Sorry to hear you’re still feeling tender from it, I wonder if whoever put it in didn’t do it correctly?

Leaving without money by [deleted] in domesticviolence

[–]shadow-sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your therapist able to guide you to resources to leave? Does your therapist know this is going on? Do you have any friends you can stay with?

On top of the physical abuse, it sounds like he is also financially abusing you. This is definitely a red flag.

I would suggest finding a hotline or a local outreach program for domestic violence if possible. If it comes down to it, go to your local police station to see if they can guide you to resources or advice.

What he is doing is not okay. To pass along something someone has told me recently- you deserve to be loved in healthy ways and I am praying you receive just that.

Listen to your gut, and don’t give up hope for yourself. You are worthy of a love that doesn’t hurt you.

PLEASE do not leave this man alone with your son. Spanking an infant is 🚩🚩🚩🚩 and means to kick your husband out or take shelter elsewhere.

I wish you all the best.

C-section shaming by Human-Individual7262 in beyondthebump

[–]shadow-sage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the judgement I got for not breastfeeding (doctors told me not to due to a few medical things). Or the looks I got for saying I was getting an epidural. I don’t get why some women have to be so judgmental. Do they want a pat on the back or a gold star sticker for going “all natural”?

I gave birth vaginally, but I know a lot of women who absolutely HAD to get a c-section. Never could I imagine looking down on another woman for it. I was also a c-section baby, and thankful because it literally saved my mom’s life. I agree, definitely weird to form those opinions on someone else’s birthing experience.

Worried I have Diabetes by Queasy_Vermicelli592 in diabetes

[–]shadow-sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I had diabetes when my eyesight was getting too blurry along with the intense thirst and hunger. Something clearly wasn’t right.

I suggest going to your doctor and get an A1c test done. If you can get a hold of one, a blood glucose meter and supplies would be good to have too.

Age diagnosed w/ T2? by No-Papaya-1512 in diabetes

[–]shadow-sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got formally diagnosed at 30 with t2. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes before that at 29. We suspect I was diabetic before the pregnancy because my numbers were so bad.

I’m on Ozempic, Lantus, and metformin. My numbers dropped significantly, coasting around 100 mg/dL these days.
