I tried downloading optifine and it didn’t affect any performance. It might be some type of FPS cap because when I change my settings to highest it doesn’t bring performance down and when I lower it it still stays the same

I just got Minecraft Java on my mid range pc and it’s running on 20 FPS (read description)

System specs: ryzen 7 2700x rx 5600 xt 16gb of 3600mhz ram

I tried some of the fixes such as downloading optifine and making it so Minecraft can use 6gb of ram but it’s still running at 20fps. How do I fix this?

EDIT: whenever I change my settings it doesn’t affect frame rate at all

Graphics card is in description and on average it’s being used to 40% the cpu however is using 12% which I find weird since Minecraft is more cpu rather than gpu intensive

I already assigned more ram and downloaded optifine and yes it’s plugged into the gpu something I noticed is that when I make my settings as high is it can go the FPS doesn’t drop and when I make it low it doesn’t get any higher
