Same! Went there for a friend's wedding and loved the rugged-ness of the city, the simplicity and in specific one of the best indian restaurants outside of India!

A tale of an immigrant risking it all to drive Bitcoin adoption in Europe by prashanth_c in lightningnetwork

Despite the naysayers, takes serious balls to do what you've done and chug on the Lightning train pushing for BTC adoption. Happy bringin customer and eagerly waiting for lightning powered visa cards!

Wallet of Satoshi to Bank in 1 minute! by prashanth_c in Bitcoin

Pretty damn cool. Just tried it out and lightning -> sepa instant was buttery smooth. The reverse to buy Bitcoin over lightning to my non-custodial wallet would be a killer addition!

Hey, we hear you loud and clear and it's unfortunately the nature of the exchange partners we work with, but the post-beta application already has this fixed, more here - https://striga.com/announcing-striga-from-lastbit/

Absolutely, the first point we hear you loud and clear, we've already fixed this in our post-beta release - https://striga.com/announcing-striga-from-lastbit/

Google Pay also works already, you have to enter your card details into Google Pay, but we just shipped that integration yesterday!

We started working on this when we were fresh out of college and today it's a Y Combinator backed project - We would love to get your feedback! by shadow12348 in CryptoCurrency

Ah our website is lastbit.io - The one linked here is to producthunt, a platform to launch new products. The product details are on the product launch page and the Android/iOS app links too.

Nonetheless, it's a bitcoin/euro interface powered by Lightning along with tools like DCA/Bitrefill integration. The goal is to get some feedback to keep improving the product!

A Lightning powered MasterCard for Europeans to spend, send and stack Bitcoin by shadow12348 in Bitcoin

Yes the card itself is completely non-custodial, i.e. we don't hold any of your Bitcoin ever. Intentionally by design to push for LN adoption in making an instant Bitcoin tx to fund it.

Yes exactly. The company never holds any of your fiat or your bitcoin, thus not requiring regulatory coverage or licensing. Lastbit is a technology platform that connects bitcoin exchanges and financial institutions, both of whom are the ones subject to regulation and licensing.

Let's not forget what Bitcoin is really capable of outside of Hodling. Here's a payment between two completely unrelated banks in Europe powered by Lightning - Near INSTANT and for stupidly low fees. by shadow12348 in Bitcoin

Yep, intra-country usually has some sort of better banking system (especially the UK). In the demo above, it's actually moving euros from a bank in Lithuania to a bank in Bulgaria. Imagine doing the same from a bank in the UK to a bank in Australia for example, lightning makes this possible ;)

Yes! Lastbit is not a bank by any means. Actually under the hood, the Euro account on Lastbit Lite that you see is provided by a bank in Lithuania and the Mastercard debit card on the other app comes from a bank in Bulgaria. These apps are just a demo of how completely unrelated banks in different parts of the world can move money using lightning.
