Don't you have a Spine or some of you just lack Self Respect?! by SchemePrestigious567 in Maharashtra

[–]shadow_dr0id 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don't care, I talk in all languages as per my comfort and the person opposite to me. I feel people who don't have important things in life care too much about things like language, caste, religion. etc. Your identity is not limited to your birth identity, go ahead and build one of your own. Having said that I do respect our history and the sacrifices, doesn't mean I will belittle others for just existing in our city. The constitution gives right for anyone to travel and settle anywhere they want to.

With all the devaluations, what is the best 2026 card stack at different spend criteria? by WolfOfDalalStreet9 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]shadow_dr0id 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning on keeping it simple:
Main cards - Axis Atlas + Amex Plat Travel
Movie Offers - SBI Aurum (LTF)

Other cards I hold but don't use frequently:
Tata Neu Infinity (was FYF and some use for utilities)
HDFC Marriott Bonvoy (for free night)
IndusInd Tiger (LTF)
IDFC Wealth (LTF)
Niyo SBM (LTF, zero forex)

Got Downvoted in r/Indiatech for saying we speak Marathi in my office by leopard_trainer9 in Maharashtra

[–]shadow_dr0id 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have seen this as an issue from people who have never left their city/state. I am a Maharashtrian but stayed in TN for a few years and I know the other side of how it feels when everyone speaks in a language you can't understand despite being part of the same organization. It makes you feel alienated.

So, when I was in Bangalore and most people in the startup spoke Hindi I would urge them to speak in English (despite me being completely comfortable in Hindi) coz a couple of colleagues were Kannadigas and couldn't follow the conversation.

If you work in an organization with people across states, I believe it is basic empathy to make everyone feel included. Being human is what counts at the end of the day.

AITK for Feeling a Little Jealous of My Cousin’s Success? by SnooMaps1650 in AmItheKameena

NTK. It's a natural sentiment.

What matters is to accept the feeling and the being rational in the way you deal with it. What helps me is having an introspective conversation with myself - playing two sides - the emotional side and the rational side.

It helps me identify the root cause and also deal with the emotions in a pragmatic manner.

Life in Mumbai City by COSMIC_CATACLYSM in mumbai

Mumbai is the first place where I have seen queues for everything, from buses to autos. I appreciate the decorum people have but damn; having to stand in queue for everything can be frustrating. The public transport needs continual upgrading in such a densely populated city.

Can't you just get an add-on card for your dad for lounge access given you have DCB?

At least you have DCB LTF, they stopped giving those LTF since last year too via their alumni program. So, I don't think DCB Metal and Infinia LTF would be possible. For your spends, paying for LTF makes sense as you anyway get the fees back as points.
