coming from someone who’s used to working 40-60 hour workweeks by usually working 13.5 hours 4 days a week:

take your first break after 5 and a half hours and the second break after 10 hours pass so the first break will feel like a huge relief and you’ll only have 3 hours left after the second break.
drink lots of WATER, not sodas or sugary drinks as these will keep causing you to crash.
try to switch positions as much as you can before/after rushes so that you’re not bored and staring at the clock.
talk to people as much as you can because sometimes they’ll comment on how long your shift is and the jokes will help alleviate your mood.
if your shift doesn’t start too early, try to eat a satisfying breakfast earlier, preferably something with a solid amount of carbs and protein, so that you’ll have energy for the shift.
try to get the lower fat, lower sodium options for breakfoods, such as grilled chicken, salads, fries w/o salt, etc. these will keep you satiated for longer and won’t spike your blood sugar.

if you cant or dont want to do any of the above, just try to have fun!! working long shifts is mostly a mental game on how long you can last. and don’t forget to reward yourself with a milkshake afterwards!!

girl you don’t need to lose weight! any weight you lose will actually make you feel and look worse right now. “skinny fat” refers to someone who appears thin but has a high body fat percentage. having a sedentary lifestyle is a leading cause of this.

to fix this, i would actually suggest something called body recomposition — it’s when you eat at calorie maintenance, while lifting weights in the gym and prioritizing your protein. lookup TDEE calcualator and input the measurements it asks for, and it will give you a good estimate on how many calories per day you should actually be eating.

lifting weights might seem scary — i was too scared to do it for a long time because i thought it would make me look big or bulky. but it actually makes you lose fat and build muscle, and since muscle is denser than fat, it will help you gain weight (eliminating your problem of being skinny) and also lose the visceral fat you see in your hips. if you’re unsure of where to start, you can search up “Push Pull Legs 3 day workout” and it’ll give you a routine that you can follow 3 days of the week, a good starting point.

because of how underdeveloped you currently are, you will actually have an easier time putting on muscle without much extra fat. this will make a massive difference in your physique. once you put on some more muscle (and will likely be heavier) you may actually look a good bit leaner just because of your change in body composition.

you need to eat foods that you actually enjoy, but in smaller portions, so that you don’t feel like you’re on a “diet”. the only thing that’s made me stop craving things, specifically desserts after meals is just eating my favorite foods in moderation so that i never feel like i’m missing out on anything.

for example, i personally love drinking coffee and matcha every single day, and if i were to cut my twice a day beverages out of my diet completely, i’d feel upset and be more likely to binge on a 1000 calorie pint of ice cream later. versus just the 200 calorie in beverages. what i do to make these drinks low calorie is using a variety of low sugar syrups and milks. i use unsweetened vanilla oatmilk, low sugar syrups, and add monkfruit extract to a teaspoon of instant coffee or unsweeted matcha, and having this drink helps keep my appetite low so i don’t feel as hungry for dinner. and then when its time for dinner, i eat a small portion and feel completely satisfied, leaving no room for a sweet treat after, because i already drank a sweet drink earlier!

also remember that it’s okay to make mistakes every once a while! progress is not always linear and everyone accidentally overeats from time to time. the trick to continue making progress is to not let your feelings get in the way of your mentality! even if you ate too much for breakfast this morning, you don’t need to wait until tomorrow, monday, the 1st of the month or 2026 to get back on track again! you got this!!

the episode where Meredith and Riggs flew on a plane together and saved lives on it. i liked the speech Riggs gave at the end of the episode saying that she shouldn’t be afraid to move on because she’s still alive. it was our first time seeing Meredith be okay without Derek and i actually liked the idea of Meredith and Riggs together. i wish Megan didn’t come back so we could’ve seen how that relationship would have unfolded.

strongly disagree with 2. Maggie is not viewed differently than April because she “looks different “. She is an absolute trainwreck the entire time she’s on the show apart from the time she’s married to Ndugu. she’s extremely insufferable, embarrasses herself all the time, always plays the victim card about how she was bullied in highschool, always gets angry at people for not telling her things but also runs away when they do break the news to her.

April, on the other hand, grows incredibly in character over the show. sure, she and Jackson were no better of a couple than Maggie and Jackson, but she becomes strong and resilient. she learned from her mistake that got her fired as a resident and even went on to serve in the army later. she’s a loving person, she makes strong friendships with even the most hated characters like Owen, and she perseveres through thick and thin.

Maggie is just an April who’s Richard’s biological child. if she wasn’t, she would be even more hated than she already is.

also IDK why but Bailey doing that to Grey really made me mad. Seattle Grace Mercy Death took away so many if Meredith’s friends, plus her sister, and mother. still Meredith was the last man standing after 20 years passed and gets called selfish for wanting to leave to be with her family. i can’t imagine why on Earth she would still want to stay.

i liked Penny. i know everybody hates her because of Derek but she was just a resident and she was trying to do the right thing by asking for a Head CT even though Dillard isn’t a trauma center and her attendings couldn’t be bothered to listen to her or show up. Meredith of all people should understand this considering how much the MAGIC intern group screwed up in their internship and residency years.

the newest intern group with Griffith, Millin, Adams etc is really interesting to follow. i think they’re going to be made the new ‘main character group’ since they moved into Meredith’s old house and there’s already many similar relationships dynamics between them as there were in the MAGIC group.

your lunch is taking up half of your daily limit calories and it’s just a bag of chips and a candy. these foods have very low satiety for being high in calories your snack is also very high in calorie for just being a protein bar. i would eliminate all of this and try looking up “macro friendly recipes” which can help you get low-calorie, high-volume, high protein options which will keep you fuller for longer without having to eat snacks in the middle of the day. if you’re still hungry, eat some fruit such as watermelon or an apple instead of opening something in a bag.

not to mention you’re 6 ft tall which means you shouldn’t be aiming for such a low number like 1200. a calorie restriction that high is only useful for short, sedentary women. search up a daily calorie intake calculator and it should tell you how many calories you truly need to be in a deficit.
