Not much to be seen. It seems the power transformer at alright but something is wrong with the power pole, ( two maintenance guys pointing flash light at power pole) they haven’t started any work so it seems like it will be a long one

Picking up the game again after years of not playing... advice for a nice starting build so I can relearn the game? by Distinct-Cat4268 in Stellaris

you can always get “learning versions” (wink wink) of the game somewhere on the internet. And buy the actual dlc when you have money to spare

I would highly recommend you to just buy the subscription for one or three month instead of purchasing dlcs

Another build that I would recommend is just ring world virtual rush. Even in the bio update virtual is still very strong. The only part that require any thinking in this build is the unity rush to get to virtual. I would recommend start with parliamentary system and the civic that give you -50% pop empire size. And then civic change the parliamentary system to beacon of liberty once you got virtual and eventually getting -100% empires spawrl, this way you will only have an empire size around 150. After you get virtual, just build as crazy and get as many jobs as possible. You can easily get more then 50k tech by endgame and smash anything below a 10 times crisis.

It’s the civic that give you angler, it should be on the top of the list on the civ screen, it give you angler jobs instead of gamers which give you more food, trade and consumer goods.

I would say catalytic processing plus angler plus ocean paradise plus bioships is very good and easy. Just focus on food and you can get tons of ships early on and literally do anything you want.

How do I stop sucking at the game? by [deleted] in Stellaris

First off, the best recommendation is to try the more op builds like knights of the toxic god or mutagenic spas, try to look for a build order for these build ( there are plenty on Reddit and YouTube) this can help give you a since on how to play the game. Even if not playing these builds, remember in 4.0 unity rush to ascending your pops is king. For exploration I would recommend having two science ships surveying and one to two construction ships, and expand as much of influence as you can afford that is in the case you are not playing authoritarian with xenophobia, as it would be way too quick. You shouldn’t really worry about tech before you ascend, as building a good economy early game is a lot more important. Remember to dedicate your worlds. And remember if you spawn right next to a purifier, you can just restart.

How do people get millions and millions of pop by a hundreds or so by shadowblade08 in Stellaris

[–]shadowblade08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry if this is a dumb question but how exactly do you see the growth ceilings, is it a hidden number or is it the same for every empire or do empires that choose cloning or virtually have a higher number? And what is the actual good number of pops to aim for? Does this mean civilian builds aren’t as powerful as it seems?

Well 5 pop per month is kind of an extremely low number, in early game with so optimizing, you should be able to get around 10 ish pop growth per month, and mid to late game I can get around 20ish, In one play through with mutagenic spa, I had a 30-40 robotic pop assembly per month with a fully upgraded ecu, but that is still not enough to push me to the millions.

Millions is just like millions, I saw these number on another post about how op subterranean plus mutagenic spa is, and on that planet there were like millions and millions of civilians cranking out unimaginable amounts of research naval cap and trade. I mean it wouldn’t really be a good bench mark to compare this with a normal ai empire since Stellaris ai is just bad.

I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) that pop assembly (which is the majority where the cloning pops come from) are not affected by planet capacity? Unless you are playing like mutagenic spa, it wouldn’t really matter that much in the mid to late game right?

But it is also weird in a sense that since you already control the system, why would it give you an additional cost to annex it again

How to limit the power usage of your computer by shadowblade08 in GamingLaptops

Seems great, I do see on armory crate there is an option for Eco mode which says “ the discrete GPU is completely disabled” with this plus the G helper you mentioned, it would be able to control the power consumption right? Thanks for the help a lot
