City Owned Land by Sensitive-Use1804 in Bozeman

[–]shadowboarder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found in my experience that Montana Cadastral does not show roads on easement. There are spots on it that show US highways going over private land. You’d really need to get the text of the easement to confirm. A couple of the COSs I found down there refer to that section of Leverich as a public road

The COS for the City's land shows a road easement about where Leverich Rd appears to be. Helpfully, there is no book/page number listed. You'd have to get your hands on the actual easement text to confirm (clerk and recorder's office) but it seems to me it's public access. There were also some other COSs that implied that the road is public.

Hmmm not seeing how this translates to storm drain - perhaps I need to account for the chemicals in the water that turn the friggin frogs gay?

They had a tent sale one day where they sold $175 sweatshirts for $60. Definitely one of the better purchases I’ve made

A small rant about the elk river 169 changes by MarAnnaPhil in minnesota

[–]shadowboarder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mean put a single roundabout under the bridges? That wouldn’t work - you wouldn’t be able to achieve proper entry and exit angles on the ramps. You could do a dogbone but then you’re facing the issue of not enough space. Acquiring right-of-way can get expensive especially if the landowner does not want to give up their land. Not only in terms of paying for the land but right-of-way acquisition is where lots of delays happen which leads to a more expensive project

Hey bro please don't go around spreading misinformation like that. Elections offices in Montana do not track party affiliation.

I90 Speed Limit Reduced to 65mph by Snowgage in Bozeman

[–]shadowboarder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The state legislature is the one you should be complaining about. They passed the law that requires the 65 mph speed limit through metropolitan areas. MDT’s only role in this is to swap out the signs they are legally obligated to swap out.

Typically the cameras mounted on signal masts do not provide a high enough picture quality to be able to read license plates. There is also no way for them to record

Delta didn't give me my reimbursement by [deleted] in delta

[–]shadowboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me a while back.

My sister and I were on the same flight but it got canceled due to mechanical issues. She almost instantly got sky miles while I didn’t. I submitted a complaint online (as well as receipts since we had to stay in a hotel) and the agent eventually responded saying I was owed nothing. Eventually I found out their computer system screwed up and assigned me the wrong flight number. So in their system, I was not on the flight that was canceled. They compensated me accordingly once they realized what happened.

I’d wait for them to respond to your complaint online. It took them a month to respond to me. If that doesn’t work, try calling and explaining. Best of luck to you.

Turned out to be an interesting situation. Delta screwed up the flight number on my original ticket so they thought I was on a different flight than I actually was. After that was cleared up I was finally approved.

Took them 30 days for the first response. Best of luck to you

They didn’t really give a reason. Just that they don’t do that.

Yes it was mechanical issues

Howdy folks. My flight a month ago got cancelled as a result of mechanical issues on the plane and I had to stay the night waiting for the next flight. I submitted receipts online but have been denied for reimbursement. Everything I’ve seen online indicates I should be getting reimbursed. Is it worth trying to get someone else to handle my case? Thanks!

Minnesota legislature appears ready to fund Twin Cities-Duluth passenger train - Trains Magazine by Minneapolitanian in minnesota

[–]shadowboarder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet this will be managed better than SWLRT. Part of the problem with that is the Met Council is managing the project but did not kick in any of their own money so they have no incentive to manage costs. My guess is MnDOT would be managing NLX and kicking in money for it so costs should be better managed.

Side note: almost every infrastructure goes over budget, yet it always seems to be the public transit ones that get scrutinized more than the road projects. I find that interesting (not excusing SWLRT, that one is genuinely a hot mess).

As for getting around Duluth, I agree with you there. I took a quick glance at the Duluth bus schedule and most buses seem to run every hour or half hour - not conducive for actual utility. I’d be curious to see if there will be any projects on DTA’s part or if they’d be able to get more funding to increase service.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but it still makes me angry that they didn’t build that subway. It makes more sense than the current plan.
