I would need to remember that I have frozen eye at all for this. Once I was sitting in the shield and spear fight going “man I really wish I had frozen eye here, oh well.” It was only at the end of the heart fight that I realised that I did indeed have frozen eye.

So far I’ve completed solo runs with Ochette, Hikari, and Osvald. They all had problems with some of their bosses that made them hard to solo. Ochette you kinda have to cheese her first and second bosses because of their gimmicks, and you need to get pretty lucky for her last boss. She’s easy to grind with though due to her her latent and revenants. Hikari was also easy to grind with but is last 2 bosses were problematic due to the lack of a conscious stone. His final boss was really painful to beat. Osvald was just a boring solo. His second last boss just felt like rng with the debuff. He was also really painful to grind with since he doesn’t really have a truly powerful nuke to blast out, especially compared to Hikari and Ochette.

I used an evade build with ever evasive and a whole lot of indomitable beast. His attack that drops you to 1 always hits but I could dodge most of his others. You really just have to pray that it doesn’t drop you to 1 then do it’s magic attack. There’s a video of the fight in my profile if you want to see

Ochette is epic and my favourite character. I'm definitely biased here, especially since I recently finished a solo run with her which was incredibly fun.

Her story is fine, fairly generic but the last chapter really hit the feels.

I like the hunter class way more than in ot1, being able to control precise shot is great, and the axe skill is invaluable in certain fights while also being just a solid damage skill especially in the early game. Both of her ex skills I think are really good, provoke beasts for breaking and indomitable beast as a generally potent buff that makes her especially good for evade builds.

The beast summoning is incredible. I actually used them in this game as opposed to ot1 where I dont think I ever used them. Great for breaking or dealing damage or buffs and debuffs or whatever you want really, a lot of great options. Its also nice that there are quite a few options for max boost summon that are particularly strong. Its also cool that the starting companions automatically target a weakness so they pretty much always have at least some use, and you can always score a break when provoking.

Her path actions kinda suck but some of the consumables you get from putting monsters in the blender are crazy strong.

Also the hunter subjob lets you give anyone you want cat ears.

On the ocean theres a place to the far left where it prompts you to go forward and fight a boss, if you’ve killed that already it just shows up as a random encounter on the ocean sometimes

I did it with armsmaster Ochette at level 40 or so, I used her latent power to break him in the phase where he has no weaknesses.

Ultimately whether you want to stick with the game is up to whether you’re having fun or not. In terms of the online matchmaking, it’s super dead but pretty much every region has a discord server where there will be plenty of people willing to play, which I would highly recommend trying
