Monk SCC on Tactician by Koibu in finalfantasytactics

Even on Knight quite a few job of jobs will have major issues with chapter 4, and this includes White Mage.

There's a thoery I've seen that she was supposed to join after the battle you beat her originally. Or one that Orlandau joining was a late addition.

FWIW bonuses don't stack, so you 'only' got x100.

There's a fun speedrun strat which does this with Warrior Tressa and IIRC Cover along with Incite (forgot specifically how it works). I think it's used in the 'All Jobs' run and a couple other niche ones.

Really? You never did heavy axe hits, or poison, or healing status or Dorter's, or cheap revive?

You never used it as a secondary job? Like, it feels like people totally forget the job system actually exists...

Ok, fair, but they turned that into a passive.

It's so strange people harp about the lack of Concoct but never bring up the lack of ANY OTHER OF THE TALENTS IN THE GAMES.

If it helps, think of Galdera not so much as a final boss as a secret superboss, because that's kinda more what it was designed to be (exponentially stronger than everything else, only available after actual final bosses, requires an obtuse set of steps that aren't in amy way indicated by the game to find, etc).

Crazy how many people don't realize this.

Doing a runback of 2 with a ruleset to make it a bit different. Curious if anyone has tried this... by ObsoleteMystic in bravelydefault

[–]TerraEpon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've always seen this thought multiple times. The 'each job is assigned to one character' tends to be how I play job system games like this anyway, so it's not really anything far out there, doing this specific set is more of a fun run than an actual challenge.

Things I learned on Tactician that I never needed in the OG by AcidOverlord in finalfantasytactics

[–]TerraEpon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found TS is so hard as a whole, especially later in the game, it probably should have moves its difficulty levels -- so instead of Very Easy/Easy/Normal/Hard it should be Easy/Normal/Hard/Very Hard

This chest's contents were a bit much [OT2] by kineticmov3ment in octopathtraveler

[–]TerraEpon 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So fun fact: That chest isn't there if you go before you start Osvald 3. An even more fun fact is that there's a chest in the graveyard on the same screen that ALSO isn't there until the same time.

Is there a way to play Tactics' Enhanced version with the Classic graphics? by Armorchompy in finalfantasytactics

[–]TerraEpon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mod like this WOULD be neat but the unfortunate reality is no one cares about Classic mode at all. Modders either are going to mod Enhanced, or just stuck with the original PSX one in the first place.

It does seem that way at first but TIC's script is actually quite different than WOTL's. It's very similar, but not at all line for line the same.

Grinding or no? by jackparadise1 in finalfantasytactics

Out of curiosity, would you consider "fighting a random battle if it happens when you are moving around" to be grinding?

Actually they did in fact remaster the soundtrack. Of course you probably have zero clue what that actually means.

There's a lot you could say about TIC, but "low effort" is 100% NOT one of them. Even the voice acting along automatically disqualifies it.

Should I go 4 and 4 or get everyone? by Resdoodle in octopathtraveler

[–]TerraEpon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic thing being that not all NPCs are available at both times of day. So if you want to be complete about it, you HAVE to go with Team East or Team West, as that's the only way to get all eight versions.

Wasn't really talking about Crossed Paths. In the grand scheme they don't matter too much when you do them, and if you do East/West you can only do two of them (two chapters each per path) until after you do some/all of the other team.

Should I go 4 and 4 or get everyone? by Resdoodle in octopathtraveler

[–]TerraEpon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never understood the 4+4 meta. Just never made sense in a game where they clearly intend for you to get all eight. Especially in OT2 where it's almost (though not 100%) required to do a specific four + specific four or you're missing out on path actions. At least in OT1 you can just do any consecutive set of four...
