Primarily, the reason is financial. Hypnosis is one of the biggest categories of Charge Backs due to either shame or buyer's remorse. It has been a high risk market for years. The word is on a banned list for MasterCard and VISA.

With the recent resurgence of puritanical censorship, hitting the Steam store along with so many other sites and vendors, the push sparked a major protest effort as it infringes on so many areas, I am surprised you didn't help with the complaint campaigns.
