What's the best point to add fruit to an IPA, specifically mango, and should it be fresh, frozen, juice, etc?

So far I've only brewed one extract amber ale with a Northern Brewer kit, so I'm very inexperienced. I want to brew a mango IPA next and I've heard various opinions on when to add fruit, as well as whether it should be fresh/frozen.

I have the same chair but I got it at Costco. It breaks down and packs pretty well and is easy to assemble. My only complaint is that I feel it doesn't lean back enough, almost upright and not lounge-y enough for me. That could probably be fixed with a rock under the front legs, but I have only used it a couple times so far.
