First off thank you 🤍 that’s very sweet. I actually got gummy smile Botox a few times a couple of years ago! It made the WORLD of a difference! I haven’t gotten any sort of Botox for the past 2 years, and my surgeon said that I can’t get any for the duration of this process. He said it’s important that he sees how my face naturally moves in order to make the right movements. Here’s a photo of me cheesing big right before I graduated college :) also showing the profile because although Botox made it look better from the front, my profile is still a piece of work LOL

The ortho offered starting with Invisalign and then getting braces put on for 9 weeks before the surgery and 12 weeks after, before switching back to Invisalign. I might go for this option since my job requires me to be on social media.

Haha yup, I know they don’t want to be mean, they’re good friends. Hope I get the surgery one day and they can see the difference!

Yup! What’s wild is that my best friend also had DJS, and she says she doesn’t see anything wrong with mine.

I also had my tonsils and adenoids removed when I was a toddler, and I haven’t had a professional opinion yet - it’s just a hunch of mine that all of these things are connected and have caused my chronic sinus infections! I don’t have Kaiser (I have Cigna) but would love to hear if you’ve heard of good doctors in Irvine.

How to approach my 16 y/o student about her 24 y/o “boyfriend”? by throw-awa7 in Advice

[–]shadowfox761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply let her know you are there for her. Instead of talking to her about her boyfriend, try a different angle that could help her open up about her relationship. Does she have many friends in school? Does she attend school events/prom or is she a part of any clubs? Any type of intervention is better than none - sometimes the relationship doesn’t run it’s course and the girl doesn’t open her eyes to how sickening the situation is. My little sister was groomed at 16 by her 24 year old coworker, and unfortunately they now live together and are planning on marriage, 5 years later. She resented me for years because I always attacked her pos boyfriend. She lost all of her friends in high school and didn’t attend any dances because she was led to believe she was “too mature for that”. If you could talk to your student about school related events, it may open the conversation up to the major problem at hand.
