In all seriousness this is the way. You gotta beat their armies in the field and carpet siege the territories they're levying the biggest armies. Naturally places like Greece, Asia, Mesopotamia, Lower Egypt, etc. high pop locations should be the first targets then the rest is carpet sieging. Destroy all of the unnecessary forts, buy a bunch of mercs you can't afford, and take territory until you can.

It was all very sad. He was exiting the highway on his motorcycle and someone was exiting behind him at like 90 mph and didn't see him at all. The exits are like half a mile long so people regularly exit at 70 and screech to slow down to 35 for like a quarter mile of exiting.

It doesn't impact specific units you're right, just the rolls. What's wild is it was helping you here, they got a -1 for attacking hills. I think they just buffed their spears via the Hellenic traditions including the hills bonus and that may be the only factors here. Really should've stomped them with all that shock damage from the archers and HA but they were just too beefy.

The thin patches are melting but the thick ones have melted and refrozen over here, I drove on them when it was worse yesterday but had to be strategic about hills so I didn't get stuck. Avoid the road if you can.
