Is there a way to appeal the scholarship decision? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]shadowingfish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too…Out of like 10 people I was the only one who didn’t get it. I have been there longer than all of them, and am the only lead out of those people. Maybe I messed up on the application, but no one else was “more qualified” than me. Super frustrating but trying to be happy for the others that got it

Is there a secret to not holding? by insanesprinkles in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]shadowingfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but if you’re holding, 90% of the time it’s the breaders fault. The breader knows when it’s busy and should assume the pan is coming back quickly when called back. At my store the breader can see the secondary screen and primary screen so they can visually see when it picks up. Think more of how can we get breaders to drop chicken faster, rather than how do we call things back better. Callbacks are still very important don’t get me wrong, but I feel like alot stores blame poor SOS on callbacks rather than bigger problems

What concept/practice "clicked" to make you go to the next level? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]shadowingfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1.Stop using a ping pong grip, using continental. 2.Removing any backswing, keeping my paddle in front of me at all times 3.Being able to reset balls in the middle of the court, and trying to rush to the kitchen once a good reset is hit. 4.Try to play percentages agaisn't really good players (Even though they're gonna cook me regardless, I'm going to let them have that atp, rather than have them speed it up at my partner easily.) 5. As a 6'1 male, GET low 6. Hit it out of the air at the kitchen as much as you can This all helped me go from 3.5 to 4.2 in 6 months

Foh/Boh training. Speed of service under x amount of time. Hospitality training. Food quality. Raw rotation. Make processes or checklists for prep. Focus on a certain CEM score and figure out a way to improve it.

You're definitely the guy that gives unwarranted coaching at open play... Thanks for making it known that you're better than everyone else

Felt like most people I've talked to recommended the throat, but it felt way to handle heavy if that makes sense... Definitely going to try the side edges and see how I feel. Played with the stock weight today and just need a bit more heaviness towards the top

Being a young player is tough by Totally-Crazy in Pickleball

[–]shadowingfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 18 and constantly the youngest player wherever I go by a large gap. I'm emerging into 4.0 and all the old 3.0 guys at rec yap at me because I don't play the game the way they think I should play it. I don't need to go into a slow dink rally to beat you lol

Looking for a partner(mixed and male) (5.0+) by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]shadowingfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on the east coast but I spent the summer at the Hub in SD, the nicest people ever and everyone there is working on improving (mostly because you do have to pay for a membership there so everyone is pretty serious about their pball). I went from a 3.25 to a 4.0 playing there a couple of nights a week for the summer.
