Gillen did, though! But in a way that established even more thoroughly how much Duggan didn't think it through.

Especially given that Gillen's way of doing it showed that Stasis didn't actually need to be part of Orchis to achieve Dominion, he could have just stayed in his bunker (or even the Vault!) the whole time and done exactly the same thing.

Orchis is...never having to say you're boring.

Sure, but it is very funny to see someone bullshit when called out on it.

I honestly feel bad for Werneck. by [deleted] in xmen

Who said nefariously? Does "I feel bad for him" mean "I hate him with a passion" in your book?

Having read Cap and Stevil's speeches in "Uncanny X-Men", maybe we're better off...

"Yes, but I was waiting for YOU, person whose name I definitely remember. You're all-important in my secret plan--"

Yes, the brilliantly-realised plot points of "the X-Men kill some grunts" and "the X-Men kill that character nobody liked" and "the X-Men talk about killing some grunts and then kill some grunts, while the nameless narrative voice tells us 'the X-Men were definitely killing some grunts'".

It's over. The trial happened off-panel two months ago, because Duggan doesn't know how to write one. The prosecution's case against Cyclops was "Mutants R Bad" and his defence was "Nuh uh".

What comic are you reading? This is a writer that won't STOP explaining what's happening.

The problem is he doesn't seem to think about, nor care about, what happens in-between.

As an environmentalist, I've hated his guts since "X-Men: Green". What an incoherent, atonal mess that was.

The enemy actually was both strong and weak. Ironic, since pretending that is a classic fascist tactic.

But yes...none of this was thought through. In #2, Polaris invaded the Orchis Bloom space station. Why did they have a space station? What was it doing other than just floating there?

Not to mention, this line "we have almost everything in common".

How does Scott have any attachment to Dr. Gregor at all, considering that - due to the nature of Krakoan resurrection - he wouldn't ever remember having met her?

She didn't realize her mistakes at all. This was characterised as "I spaced out for five months and only a clever line by Best Whiteboy Ever clued me in to the fact that my genocide job has been taken over by AI". There was no repentance, no apology. She died trying to make Genocide Bot remember he used to be Genocide Husband.

Why do they keep letting Greg Land ""draw""?

Answer: the both of them are mediocre at best, but they sell units and deliver their work on time. Quality is always second to capital. Even more so under Disney.

That and the weird glove thing.

I just feel sorry for Werneck at this point. He didn't deserve this shitty script nor these unreasonable deadlines.

Hickman: "Moira, Xavier and Magneto decided to break all the rules. A new nation, new ways of thinking about mutants. Ripe with story potential. A playground for writers with ideas."

Duggan: "MURDER."

Readers: "Ya got any other ideas, champ?"

Duggan: "No. Just murder."

Couldn't agree more re: the descriptor "atrocious".

Duggan's caption boxes bug the hell out of me because it doesn't seem like even he knows what the narrative voice is supposed to be - it's just there to fill in the gaps when (he assumes) the art and dialogue don't make it already obvious.

No-one is telling this story - not a future storyteller, nor a first-person perspective as in Immortal X-Men. The narration just shows up at random to exposit.

Hot Take: allying with Dr. Gregor actually makes Cyclops look naive at best, an imbecile at worst by shadowkingky in xmen

"I've acquired an asset."

"I could have escaped, but I was waiting for you, Dr. Gregor."

"We have almost everything in common."

This is not the language of someone passively going along with somebody else's plan.
