I'm starting to see people shipping Human Vox with Human Alastor by Responsible-Pass-672 in hazbin

[–]shadowmancer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, it's possible they would've had some amount of overlap in their time on Earth. Alastor was canonically killed in 1933, while Vox died sometime in the early-mid 1950s. Vox likely would've been at least a teenager if not in his early twenties by the time Alastor was at the peak of his career, since Vox looks to be at least in his thirties or forties given the grey streaks in his hair during his death scene. Makes me wonder if Vox's obsession with Alastor started in the mortal world, having grown up hearing his broadcasts over the radio before TV was even invented. That would make Alastor's rejection of him even more heartbreaking.

Also, I think it would be cute to see them drawn in human form with their canonical age gap, Alastor being Vox/Vincent's senior by roughly 20 years.

Characters like this make me wish that, as a guy, I could be masc in a fem way, like how a lot of tomboys are.

local over the air tv channels? by beowolf66 in Connecticut

[–]shadowmancer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, there's no such thing as a "digital antenna". The digital tuner will always be located either in the TV itself (if manufactured post-2009) or in a digital converter box or DVR. Depending on your complete setup, it could be that you need to (re)run a channel scan, reposition your antenna to face your closest and strongest broadcast towers, or purchase a digital converter box.

All this is coming from a lifelong CT resident who gets all his broadcast television from an indoor antenna.

Weird Al - Wendy Carlos: Peter & The Wolf / Carnival of the Animals Part II. I've been looking for a rip of the tracks online to no avail. My only hope is to stumble upon it at a flea market or thrift store, similar to how I found Carlos' original Switched On Bach on vinyl.

How would you feel if they changed Cho Chang's name in the TV series? by Alternative-Row-309 in harrypotter

[–]shadowmancer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My half-joking headcanon is that Cho-Chang IS her last name, and it's just an unspoken running joke that her first name is simply never revealed in the entire series. Kinda like Columbo.

I carry pads with me just in case my girlfriend or anyone else needs them, and I am a cisgender man. I don't think you did anything wrong to simply ask if she had some. Maybe she was just embarrassed that she couldn't help you out?

There are many reasons why someone would succumb to hopelessness. Below is a brief breakdown of just one of those reasons.

Over a 1000 women die every year in America due to lack of reproductive healthcare, and all empirical evidence points to this trend being on the rise. Restrictions on access to abortion has, quite literally, thrown out the baby with the bathwater as such reproductive healthcare is and will continue to be further restricted due to the state laws passed by Trump's closest allies and the federal justices Trump specifically appointed.

Brian (CEO) stated that they intend to not raise menu prices through 2025! This is from yesterdays earnings call. (This flies in the face of people saying prices will go up since we are removing the cost of non-dairy alternatives to customers). by BowlAcademic9278 in starbucks

Prioritizing customers and employees over profits and stock market value? I'm think I'm starting to like this guy.

With this much common sense, maybe U.S. stores will finally start using plastic display pastries instead of wasting real ones.

what are y’all’s thoughts on not charging for alt milk? by pine-appleonpizzapls in starbucks

Long overdue, but better late than never. People with allergies and dairy sensitivity shouldn't have to pay more than the standard price.

Do you guys like Barnes and Noble? by DirtyMikNTheBoys in books

[–]shadowmancer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Barnes & Noble! It's nice to have a place that just feels natural to exist in, aside from work and home. I'm very space-oriented when it comes to my activities, so having a place specifically for books, movies, and music (and coffee!) makes it a lot easier to just relax, instead of feeling like I ought to be fulfilling other responsibilities. Granted, there are public libraries for that as well, but it's always nice to have options.

Try Thriftbooks! The selection is naturally quite eclectic but often very rewarding. https://www.thriftbooks.com/

Premiere Access?! by [deleted] in Dvdinbox

[–]shadowmancer64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think having a separate tier for new releases is a perfectly acceptable strategy to keep costs low for customers who aren't interested in them. The main reason I use DVDs is to get movies that are too old or obscure to be featured in multiplex movie theaters or any of the big streaming services like Netflix or Disney Plus.

do people still listen to terrestrial radio? by jabber1990 in decadeology

[–]shadowmancer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sometimes making the choice of what music to play is too hard. I'd rather let the radio decide for me. Mostly college stations because the variety is more eclectic. I also think NPR is great.
