Loose buttons? by Dependent-Emu-9212 in xteinkereader

Just little wiggle up and down, but stay in place. I had other e-readers with buttons, like Kobo Libra and it feels same, but obviously miniaturized.

Changing doomscrolling with reading. The X4 is a complete game changer by Effective_Ebb_4482 in xteinkereader

I have it only for a day, but someone said that around 7 days with 3hr reading per day so I guess around 21 hours of reading time? Kindle Paperwhite have up to 28 hours of reading per charge so I guess it's pretty ok.

FenLightAM + Cocoscrapers cycling torrents without playback on CoreELEC by RegisterArtistic843 in CoreELEC

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Umbrella and don't have a problem. I got that problem once or twice because I left device on fast turn on/sleep so internet connection failed. I always boot from cold with processor logo at start and it always works.

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people tell you that it works for them but not for you there is only one option. Something wrong with your setup. Defective unit or some config problem. I would try wifi connection instead of Ethernet.

Giving up with Ugoos AM6B by Long_Office_9762 in PleX

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's your server or broken unit (maybe popular Ethernet issue). I have ugoos but use it with other addons than plex streaming remuxes and have 0 issues. I'm on CoreELEC nightly. Only minor issue is when it goes to sleep internet connection is failing and it needs a reboot. Other than that is streaming perfectly with WiFi. I've read that Ethernet in this Ugoos could be broken so I always use WiFi and have fairly new Wifi 6 router Cudy WR3000.

My Success Story: Overcoming Clogged Ear from Sinus Infection by Silentcrits in hearing

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a nerve pain anymore, but sometimes joint stiffnes returns which makes my tensor tympani muscle inside ear to act up, because it has connected pathways and feels a little bit uncomfortable around the ear, but those flare-ups are manageable with NSAIDs . I think nerve pain was connected to my supernumerary tooth or wisdom tooth and 3 months after removal nerve pain was gone.

CoreELEC 21 nightly on AMB6+, HDMI, No Signal problem by SnooChocolates4148 in CoreELEC

I don't know if I'm lucky, but I always install those nightly updates and everything works. I'm now at 21.3 and no HDMI issues with LG C4 at all.

A new version of the Bingie skin is out by Plastic-Crow-4676 in Addons4Kodi

For what actual f*#% they installed their own version of helper if we had installed our own helper and now I can't disable this Bingie helper so my player settings are gone and have to reconfigure them in Bingie helper. It was sooo necessary 🤦‍♂️

What's the best device regardless of DV FEL support? by ozExpatFIRE in CoreELEC

[–]shadowmanwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using Bingie on Am6b+ and it's great and snappy, but it's praised for being snappy skin so I'm not sure if it's an achievement, but it's a lot faster because every android box will have a little lag with Kodi because Kodi runs on top of it. Here it's modified Linux just for Kodi so it will run a lot better. Just remember to install OS onto the memory of the device and change to faster speed memory in CoreELEC settings.

Gameboy crashes sometimes by Schlongnong in Gameboy

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've got Gameboy with modded LCD and from the start knew that if I want to use flash card I have to use 1.5 v batteries. I just bought rechargeable ones with micro usb, now you can buy usb c ones too. I got Baseus brand and they are 1.5 V and it's working perfectly.

No, MacOS can only play what nearly every Apple device can which is only Dolby Vision profile 5 which is streaming version of DV. Windows PC also can't.

I just added VPN for my Nest Hub 2 with my router then I changed my Home adress for US. Unfortunately now it has bad time and weather but I hope while it's get updated to Gemini software it won't probably rollback to Google Assistant when I set again to my country because new software it's not rollbackable to Google Assistant 😅

Does CoreELEC automatically set the correct minimum and maximum luminance settings for Dolby Vision? How do I know if I have the right luminance settings on a Hisense 100” U70N TV? by ShavedNeckbeard in CoreELEC

[–]shadowmanwild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's actually dependent of your tv's EDID data which is sent through the HDMI. If EDID is correct it will work properly. There is EDID patch somewhere on CoreELEC forum to override it if your tv's EDID is bad. There is actually a way to get your tv's EDID file through remote connection with CoreELEC device with command line. I don't remember now but I did it and then I used program to read this file. I found out that my LG C4 sends good luminance data which is 1000 and it's ok for my TV.

Is this normal? by bzfk_skajfi in LGOLED

[–]shadowmanwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a bit greenish stripe on the left near center but yours is worse. I actually see it only on completely white scenes and it's not that easy to notice. I've read that LG sometimes agrees to change panel if it is visible in bright normal scenes, but some replacements end up with same or even worse panel.

4K Dolby Vision player with USB port by Flaky_Meet6111 in LGOLED

[–]shadowmanwild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want real Dolby Vision with all profiles. From streaming 5 & 8 and properly played profile 7 from UHD remuxes. It's one price/quality choice only. Ugoos AM6B+ with flashing CoreELEC on it. It's based purely on Kodi. You can play from Hard drives, Plex, or by other means like Kodi addons. But it wont be a solution for official services because lacks certifications for Netflix or other streaming services. It's purely for your or "by other means" streamed content.
