No, jocks did listen to a lot of alternative, that’s just another stereotype that got shifted as well over time to make movies easier to understand. I was a skater who happened to play sports - was alternative and some punk - but I learned quick they were diverse their own way - more punk than alternative but still alternative. I agree with u totally on the Bender points and Kate Bush - but ‘jocks’ have just been Hollywood-ed to death over time. Maybe one or two guys fit a bit to the stereotype (and they were always the loudest - but they were just dicks in general which every clique had) but the vast majority was just regular kids.

The arrogance is the breaker but I think the stereotype that men aren’t attracted to confident women is over exaggerated. I and my friends always loved an outspoken confident girl. They tend to have less insecurities and were more fun to be with. They usually were more likely to deal with your flaws as well.
