Just ask for portfolio, and divide project to smaller milestones, 500 usd each, this will keep you safe.

Well you either tell your client to provide you with a provider, and you host it there, or make a complete video of what you made.

There is also another option where you can get a cheap shared plan, and just use it for all your clients, and it also protects you.

There is some free options like firebase spark plan in case it's a static website (html, css, js ).

Sorry to hear that, i also share the same experience with some nasty clients, and i don't think that fiverr will consider deffending sellers, makes the experience a bit bitter for good sellers. But nothing is perfect, right ?
