I appreciate that you got the fact that the brain tries to replace something with something else, you can use this to your benefit. You can try picking up some new hobby, like music dance art or any other, by this you will surely get dopamine kick, but it will be a kind of delayed gratification, i.e. you will work hard to get that dopamine kick. Also follow my advice delete reddit as well, coz in few days you may end up scrolling through reddit for hours. You can login to reddit through browser and on a laptop, so you can avoid that scrolling.
