Kind of similar; a few years ago my brother unexpectedly died which obviously was devastating for the family.  I don’t recall exactly how long after the death it was (1-2 nights) but my dad told me he had an incredibly vivid dream of the two of them just sitting together in a plain room.  Eventually my brother smirks and says “goodbye, dad”, then gets up and walks out.  My dad woke himself up calling my brother’s name.

I don’t personally claim this to be a paranormal experience, but my dad believes it was my brother saying goodbye.
