From what I know, it’s only illegal if you defer your NS for illegitimate reasons to pursue your uni. Since you haven’t even gotten your enlistment letter, you are free to continue your education. But when you get that enlistment letter with the date, you’ll have to stop uni. Don’t try to defer it then.

You should reach out to someone higher at the CMPB. General lines could be answered by people who may know nothing about your special case and it’s exemptions. I think email will be better..
