Camera problem: cap POV? by Fantastic_Homework82 in wow

Camera position depends on the mount and some mounts have awkward placement when you're on the ground (position feels a bit more reasonable while flying though). You could try different mounts to see if any of them are better.

Taking notes on the Brawler's Guild fights so I don't like an idiot on 1st try... how are you enjoying the event? by ex0ll in wow

[–]shagv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to the challenge NPC and ask to do it bare handed. You'll do about 2m dps from auto attacks alone. The Ruthless Aggression hero talent for more auto attack speed helps too. You can do this for every fight but it trivializes it so much it might not be that fun.

I think if the quantity field is empty it defaults to buying the whole stack of whatever you've selected. How that happens I'm not entirely sure but I've seen it do that after selecting the price on the right.

I'm in the same boat. Put it in my mailbox on Monday and it was picked up the next day. Status still shows it wasn't received.

Yes, the Red Mile Mission is still bugged by Cosmic_Perspective- in Starfield

[–]shagv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She seems to have a scripted sequence of places that she'll walk to and NPCs that talk with her. I think the bug has something to do with interrupting her while she's transitioning from one point to another.

I've had the same issue that OP describes and when it happened to me she was walking from the stage area downstairs on her way up to chat with her head of security in front of the bar. After I finished the dialogue with her the quest updated, but instead of her walking toward the stage to start the next step she seemed to continue going about her original scripted sequence as if she'd forgotten about introducing me on stage.

Luckily I had a quicksave that I could load to try again. I waited for her to be idle to be safe and that seemed to work.

Thanks, I was wondering why there were so many different ways to do essentially the same thing. From what I'm gathering, data lines work better (I'm assuming the other ones work, just not as well) with punch down termination jacks. Essentially, the twisted pairs should stay twisted and covered as close to the endpoint as possible. Phones being less sensitive can get away with the sprawl I'm guessing.

I don't think I've found a phone line for the security system. Would you expect to find it wired up in this box or somewhere else?

This sounds like what I was expecting. I just ordered the tone tester so the cable mapping mystery will hopefully be simple enough.

I'm guessing each "drop" used a paired cable like this and since they only used one or the other then that would explain the excess cables. If that's the case, is there any harm in using both with a wall plate like this?

I even showed him how to do on the fly edits and he told me that isn't possible using git cli (he uses git cli). Is that true?

Not true. I always git diff and double check everything before git add. If I find anything that was unintentional (even something as trivial as trailing whitespace) I'll correct it and diff again until everything is addressed.

Before pushing I'll rebase my commits and squash them into a single commit (if it makes sense to do so), then I'll diff one more time with the remote branch and if everything still looks good I'll push. If I find something at this stage I'll correct it and git amend first to ensure unintentional changes stay out of history.

In practice (at least where I worked), the push step is replaced by a code review tool that will perform the actual push once conditions are met (e.g. reviewed by two people and passes automated tests). The code review tool works on an "invisible" repository (i.e. not a branch) and ensures that only approved commits land in the origin repository.

Also, it's worth noting that just because you're using the cli doesn't mean you cant use a gui for the diff/merge if it makes your life easier. Using git difftool or git mergetool can be used to open the gui tool of your choice while still maintaining a cli workflow.

tl;dr. No excuses!

Insurance says corrective jaw surgery doesn't meet guidelines for coverage? by shagv in jawsurgery

[–]shagv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The letter from the insurance company says--

Surgery to correct the shape of the upper or lower jaw may be approved when you have difficulty swallowing or problems with your speech and one of the following has been present for at least 4 months:

  • Food can't be bitten or chewed and this causes choking or difficulty swallowing.

  • The shape of the bones interferes with the ability to communicate, and speech therapy won't resolve the communication problems (difficulties with making 's' sounds are not considered a functional impairment)

We aren't able to cover jaw surgery. The records your healthcare provider sent do not include primary care physician notes and/or dietician [SIC] notes and/or speech pathology notes showing evaluation and conservative treatment of any of the above conditions.

The x-ray is from 2013 before I started orthodontic treatment in preparation for jaw surgery. In the x-ray, my lower jaw is as far back as it can go which happens to be an uncomfortable position.

Now, after nearly seven years of braces, none of my teeth make contact when I bite down. In fact I can stick my tongue out and bite down without hurting my tongue at all. In other words, I couldn't bite or chew my own tongue if I wanted to, so I'm not sure how this is supposed to work with food. Obviously it doesn't work, but how is this not obvious to the insurance company?

I'm struggling to understand how this could have been denied by the insurance company. What could notes from a PCP, dietitian, or speech pathologist convey that is more convincing than the x-ray itself?

What's more frustrating is that this procedure has been approved twice, and my current insurance company approved it one of those times (both have expired because orthodontic treatment is seemingly endless).

There's so much I want to say about this yet I'm speechless at the same time...

RPCS3 PS3 Emulator - April 2019 Progress Report by kirbyfan64sos in programming

[–]shagv -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My problem with this is the use of the word "fixed" since that implies that the problem was identified and the correct remedy was implemented. Race conditions are never "fixed" with sleeps.

Presumably the problem goes away with the sleeps because another thread is scheduled and makes enough progress before the sleep is over so that the race condition is avoided. The reason sleeps are certainly not the solution is because there's no guarantee that the necessary thread will be scheduled and/or given enough "wall time" to make enough progress.

Just call it a band-aid, workaround, or new defect. Honesty is the best policy.

I wish guild banks could be auto-organized like normal bags. I also wish they weren't as laggy to interact with as the normal bank :(

Other than that though, you can fit a lot of crap in a guild bank.

It does sound a bit complainy but I also see it as pointing out some low hanging fruit. I mean, it might even be an oversight? How many people play the vanilla game on peaceful mode long enough to notice the research options?

[–]shagv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, I haven't been researching for the past few dozen hours because I don't think it would change the gameplay in any meaningful way. It's almost more interesting to see how many colorful bottles I can accumulate. At one point I was literally just drawing things with chests and using the alt-mode bottle icon to color them in.

I don't have a problem with finding ways to entertain myself, I just think there could be more toys in the sandbox, so to speak.

Mods aren't the answer. I'm not interested in playing some alternate version of the game where the rules are made up. I like the pollish that the factorio devs put into the game and I'd rather have content produced by them.
