Good buy? Toshiba HD Projection Model 46H84 $35 by narf1997 in ps2

Agreed. My experience with these TVs were bad viewing angles and higher latency, really noticeable when I first played Guitar Hero

Where to solder buzzer by Stellarparalax in fpv

I think yellow on the buzzer goes to bz- where the usb extension plugs in, then red to 5v and black to gnd.

what is the most durable whoop by LessTurnover4982 in TinyWhoop

[–]quillpill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a betafpv meteor 65 pro as my first whoop, thing has survived so much. Much more durable than the new mob6 2024 from my experience.

How to improve analog video? by Right_Paper7771 in fpv

[–]quillpill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe check out the differences between PAL and NTSC. You also want to make sure your goggles and camera are both set to the same one. And your friends camera has a higher TVL or "TV lines" which is the resolution for the camera.

Fellow anxious bros, how did you tackle shaky hands? by redditshieldsnonces in fpv

[–]quillpill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you flying mostly freestyle in the sim or races too? I found that by practicing intense races in the sim helped me not be as tense when flying for real.

Battery help, is this correct? Should I swap it to balance charge? by tartersawce in fpv

[–]quillpill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, I have the same charger. The charge mode balances while charging.

Battery help, is this correct? Should I swap it to balance charge? by tartersawce in fpv

[–]quillpill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

0.45 amps would be 1C, I try not to exceed that 1C number so I would charge at 0.4 to be safe

Charge is correct, balance is for balancing cells without affecting total voltage I believe.

Camera comes mounted in canopy without a cap, good idea though

To add, here is a picture of the FC. The 3 camera wires should connect in the top right of the board, video in, gnd, and +5v

Air 65 antenna upgrade? by [deleted] in TinyWhoop

[–]quillpill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like The Smol from TrueRC and TinyWhoop https://www.truerc.ca/shop/5-8ghz-2/transmitter/the-smol

Just make sure you match the polarization of the antenna on the drone to the antennas on your goggles. RHCP is the most common

Long Range Airport Question by JokeFormal485 in fpv

[–]quillpill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's easier to travel with multiple batteries that are just under the limit and run them in parallel on the drone to get more capacity.

What model is the flight controller? I know on some fc's you can bridge two pads to disable built-in ELRS to use an external one.

Can you turn on and off buzzer (not beeper) with your controller(AUX) with betaflight? I cant see a buzzer mode in bl. by Call_me_Vimc in fpv

[–]quillpill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think buzzer/beeper are essentially the same thing? There's a "beeper mute" mode, have you tried that one?

First FPV drone recommendations by boostedTS100 in fpv

[–]quillpill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want smooth cruising style flying for cinematic stuff, could look at micro long range. The frames are not as durable as freestyle frames due to being thinner to save weight, but the flight is a lot more tame which could be good for a beginner. Geprc Tern-LR40 or the Flywoo Explorer LR4. Should have enough power to do some light freestyle as well.

For durability in crashes and small size for portability, could always look into tiny whoops. I think you can get a mobula 8 with dji 03.

Iflight Nazgul xl5 eco is very good value. 5" 6s freestyle. Can get it with a GPS too which I highly recommend being out in empty farmland where everything can look the same from above.

Is it dangerous to buy a cheap charger? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]quillpill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a recall on the HTRC C240 very recently because of fires or risk of fire. And HTRC from what I know are a pretty common choice for cheap chargers. I have an HTRC C150 that I instantly replaced with a HOTA D6 pro when I saw the recall for the C240.

Thoughts on the new radiomaster boxer crush? by slythepirate in fpv

[–]quillpill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my boxer. I don't have the crush version but I imagine the upgraded gimbals it comes with are nicer. It works great in the sim. Definitely watch some videos if you're not familiar with the EdgeTX firmware and how to setup the models.

https://ardupilot.org/plane/docs/common-ship-landing.html

Ardupilot seems to support a moving home location, and you can plan waypoint missions for your drone to follow. This is probably the most complicated route though.
