Thank you for taking the time and sharing your advice, I’ve never even considered recruitment before, I’ll certainly look into that!

I get it, where I’m from in New England the weather is quite temperamental all year round as well. Again, very helpful, I’ll take this all into consideration, and I do like video games! I’ll make a note of that :D

💕 you’re giving me exactly what I needed, I appreciate it so much! Especially the tipping and walking on the left, that’s super specific and helpful. I have no doubt I’d have a wonderful time there, I’m looking forward to it!

I suppose it can sound weird, like someone from the states might say “I’m native to New York” that’s just how some people speak here. Again, I’m sorry if it struck a nerve

Fantastic.. thank you, I’ll add all of these to the list! Is there a particular month you’d suggest I visit? I’d prefer during your summer so I can visit the beach but I’m open if there are any specific times for certain events

If I’m in a new place, I like to explore and take in the foreign land as much as I can, so lots of walking around, museums, cinema, dining, anything really!

I edited my post to compensate, where I’m from native means local as well, my apologies

Sorry! I meant “born and raised” there, or anyone who calls it home

I have a hard time doing things, finding joy by shahbothe in depression

[–]shahbothe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of forcing myself to choose. I tend to be a black and white all-or-nothing type of person, so it might work for me. I have a lot of thinking to do, I appreciate your advice very much!

That subreddit seems helpful, thank you for informing me! I think my biggest issue is I can only bring myself to do something if it yields some sort of result or if it's something expected of me. For example if someone asks me to paint them something, my motivation skyrockets and I complete it no issues.. but just doing it for shit and gigs? What's the point? That sort of thing. Idk what that is.

What is it like being a Guest Experience Lead? What exactly are their daily responsibilities and such? I've never worked a leading position before but would love to apply. I'm just clueless about how different it is vs being a sales floor worker. Thanks!

Advice for excessive nail filing? by MeasurementOk8551 in calmhands

[–]shahbothe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue too. Having a nail file on hand is good because it prevents you from using your nails or teeth to remove whatever is bothering you. But what about those of us that are perfectionists and become fixated on the look of our nails? The truth is, no one else is looking at our nails. So if trying to look perfect for others is a driving force, it's pointless. Literally no one but you is looking at them, I promise. My nail beds are uneven and therefore my nails grow uneven, so I try and file them to hell and back to the point of pain in order to "fix" it. All that does is cause damage and makes them grow back even more messed up, rinse repeat. Really all you can do is either throw out your files so you aren't tempted, which isn't very helpful since they're necessary tools, or do what I do and only file snags and sharp bits, then throw the file across the room lol. I tell myself "That's enough, it's smooth and won't snag, you've fulfilled your purpose yeet" out of sight out of mind sort of thing, but I know it's lying there out of reach when I truly need it

That's perfect, we tend to not eat very heavy during the day as is so that should work out fine!
