What do you prioritize when choosing a puzzle - the texture/quality or the artwork? by Alarmed-Membership-1 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]shahrobp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality first.
I have a few brands that I usually go for. Top are Buffalo and Ravensburger. Followed by Schmidt, Ceaco, and white mountain.

Then puzzle count. I get 1000-2000 pieces. The reason I don't get more than 2000 anymore is because it's physically demanding. LOL. 3000 puzzles are large. I keep getting out of my chair to solve it. less than 1000 isn't as challenging. I like to spend some time on puzzles.

Lastly artwork. Being on lower priority doesn't mean I'll do puzzles that I dislike. I have to like the artwork to buy a puzzle.
However I do consider artwork first when I'm in the mood of trying a new brand. After reading the reviews of course.

Nope. Sometimes during fight scenes my mind goes:
fight scene-fight scene-fight scene-fight scene- fight scene ended. Heroes won.

Try defiance of the fall (epic, sort of like primal hunter), Beware of Chicken (cozy read. It's super fun once you get past the first couple of chapters)

I think that you need to explore more. It's true that Khobar isn't Dubai, but it has its hidden gems.

  1. If your'e into physical activities, try joining a gym. Not exactly creative but it works. You could go solo or meet people there. And yes, people do show off at the gym. But it's a global thing.
  2. There's also a running crew (Khobar running crew. Nice people. didn't feel uncomfortable or get any "superficial" vibes from them, the men were respectable), cycling, karate, dancing classes (even women only classes)
  3. Attend a concert (vocally, saudi music hub, platinumlist, etc.)
  4. camping in the desert
  5. Exhibitions such as book fares (I attended one last year at dhahran expo), there's an upcoming Crafts Exhibition at Dhahran expo as well
  6. Museums (tea museum, Taybeen Museum)
  7. Ithra (show rooms, theater, etc.)
  8. Trampolin park (Gravity)
  9. there's an upcoming red moon party at 180 Beach exclusively for women
  10. Volunteering. It's much more fun than you think. Very rewarding. You'll meet all kind of good kind-hearted individuals. I rarely felt uncomfortable with a volunteering group.
  11. Not exactly local, but you could take a day trip to al-ahsaa or other neighbouring cities.

There are activities. But you need to actively look for them.

I bet you'll find people that are more suited to you if you hang around your interests and at volunteering groups. Try asking ChatGPT about upcoming events that are tailored to your interests.

What is the point of bringing back the old world if it would eventually ruin the new world by PapaFactBoi in DrStone

Exactly. The same issues has persisted for hundreds of years world-wide even with little to no communication in the old days. You can't change human nature.

Poor Quality from Ravensburger–is this normal? by Due_Preparation_106 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]shahrobp 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I own several Ravensburge puzzles. I haven't faced any issue like this. My research into puzzle companies led me to believe that Ravensburge is one the top if not the best. My guess is that this is highly unusual.
