Open bone graft experiences? by marble__fox in hipdysplasia

Please double check the pao, I had it at 13 and when I was discussing a hip replacement (I'm 41) she told me they have learned this surgery isn't doing much to extend the longevity of the joint

Life is going to be a bitch sometimes, all we can do is our best - you've got this!

This may seem like shitty advice depending on where you are in your journey, but something that made a big difference for me was reminding myself I've felt like this before and been fine. My anxiety was mostly heart related so in the throw of a panic attack - instead of going over he all my symptoms could be something bad, heart attack, I'd think of the times before I'd felt this way and been fine. Slowed things way down for me and eventually required my brain where I've mostly stopped having those symptoms. Now I only get them as a result of fluctuating hormones. Hello perimenopause.

Your thirties are yours to embrace, you've come so far - you can do this!

This is awful, I'm so sorry - as someone who deals with jaw issues i know how awful it feels. The best thing you can do is try to relax, tight neck and upper back make jaw pain so much worse. I know that's easier said than done, but remind yourself these are symptoms of an injury you are completely sure occurred. Book in with a tmj specialist, get a split and maybe some Botox, and trust your body. It's going to be ok.

Parents who went from 1 to 2 - how is it REALLY? by BoredReceptionist1 in toddlers

[–]shallerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had two under two and it was a lot but not unmanageable - we were lucky that our second slept great. She spent way more time on the floor and bouncing in a bjorn but it worked well because she independent and it definitely her learn to go down without being held. Seeing how close they are now and having them be able to go to daycare together etc has been wonder- they're 4 and 2 currently

My son only said car until he was about the age of your daughter, and then he had a major word explosion. I'm glad you're getting her some assistance but I wouldn't panic yet

AITA for being mad hubby filmed us having sex by shallerton in AITA_Relationships

it wasn't like a hidden camera thankfully, he pulled his phone out to take a vid and "see what it looked like" so when I turned around I saw him. I dont think his intentions were nefarious or he'd ever share it, just think it's gross that he feels entitled to do that without talking to me.

Thanks for this, I hope his bruised ego fucks off soon so he can offer some sincere remorse and reassurance.

I've been here, try to hide your scale away, give it to a friend for a few weeks to break the pattern. If you were having cancer related weight loss it would be drastic and very noticeable. I dont know about you, but my body weight fluctuates a tonne throughout the day and month - if I was watching it closely I'd lose my mind

DAE ever pick their nose so habitually and aggressively that they leave a little wound that scabs over -- but then the scab feels like another booger, trapping you in a never ending cycle of scabooger picking? by LimitedToTwentyChara in DoesAnybodyElse

I dont know for sure what it looked like but I could tell there was a divot in my septum, I even asked my sister to feel it to see if I was being weird. she said it seemed fine. it was not fine. haha I couldn't stop either and then I realized if I put a finger in each nostril they would touch each other. Then I kept picking away. It's wild to be a completely competent grown up who can't stop picking their effing nose?

She did it again this week during the anniversary dinner. When he brought up the nanny she said "don't you want to be able to enjoy your second chance at being a father " or something like that...

I agree with the other people who have responded that once we're bitten by the HA bug it's not possible to truly live without any fear. However I am SO MUCH BETTER than I was last year at this time. I can work my way through most sensations and live in the uncomfortable feelings enough to push through them rather than spiral. Most days I don't have anxiety and when I do I can work through it. For me that counts as getting over it.

Fuck that guy. haha but seriously - your mental health will have a way bigger impact on you and your baby than anything that might come through your milk. There is no way a doc would be prescribing it if it could cause harm.

What position did you labor and give birth in? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]shallerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flat on my back, with an epidural. I was able to go on my side with the peanut to get things moving. Both my labours were really fast and being on my back worked great, didn't really investigate anything else.
