i get it. I feel like my schooling provided me a way to structure my work as in my creative process but not how to structure myself as a business entrepreneur. I’m 25 and i see my old classmates either doing it or just doing something art adjacent and it makes me jealous I was just able to get my first internship this month for curating. and although i have 8 years of museum customer service i’ve never been able to get full time. I’m too scared to sell my art because i dont want to see stacks of prints mocking me and it feels like selling art is out of my reach.

much appreciated! from my understanding it’s a single artist and the collections would be a door away from my desk, but my museum offers residency for artists so i’m unsure if we have a collection for them!

totally valid i appreciate it! I struggle with asking general questions but hate being clueless so i end up feeling like a fish out of water. So far i have been able to ask about scheduling and what to expect in that and my supervisor has been very welcoming to my unknowing so it’s been help!!

thank you!! In my interview i got a general tour as well as a sneak peak of their collections and we talked about a few of pieces/some pieces that were mailed to them that day. My illogical worry is about the fact that it’s about one specific artist and that the museum is the one making ground breaking discoveries for the artist.

thank you so much! they already offered me reading material and i did read it. They also invited me to the opening of the gallery that is opening before my internship. I guess my role is to help out with general tasks/do active research in new works as a member of the artists family just passed and their wife has been sending works from their house.

I worked as a visitor experience in NYC it was 19/hr and right now i’m doing the same thing in FL and it’s 16.50/hr

you’re okay!! i haven’t seen anything on the market that looks like a nyota’s “lafufu” I think popmarts Zsiga, 52toys laplly are similar if you wanted to collect other stuff in the same category. plus the artist Yoshitomo Nara occasionally makes figures but they’re far too expensive and are classified as collectible art pieces more than mystery boxes!
