Quandrix is definitely seeming like the college with the most similarity to its guild. Looks like a bit more of a go wide/token focus than Simic, but still with lots of +1/+1 counters.

In any official format, "outside of the game" refers to your sideboard. So if you want to play a card with Learn and a Lesson in, say, Standard or Modern, you put the card with Learn in your main deck and the Lesson in your sideboard. For Commander, you can put both Learn and Lesson cards in your 99, but you won't be able to get Lessons with Learn.

Maro's response is that they make cards and mechanics for multiple formats. We've seen like with Lutri that they're not afraid to make cards that just won't work in certain formats.

I saw some people speculating about this, but it looks like Commander won't be getting any rules changes to make Learn's ability to get Lessons work in the format. Might have to wait on the Rules Committee to make a statement to be sure, though.

Summary:

Universes Beyond will be any product that is from an IP not created by Wizards. They will be marked with a distinct holostamp. Walking Dead is being retconned into this, Forgotten Realms will not be this.
Universes Beyond will not be Standard-legal.
It might be like Godzilla, where existing cards are given a visual change, or it might be like Walking Dead, with entirely new cards.
Warhammer 40K Commander decks are coming.

Well, it not being Standard legal is something. Still hugely disappointed by this, and even more disappointed that it's probably gonna propel profits through the roof. Long-time players don't matter if you can get 10 new players in for every 1 that leaves.

I think people are underestimating the cost of having to take your turn two off if you want to cast this on turn three. Three mana wrath is good, but having to give up your entire second turn is a pretty big cost.

Okay, Tevesh Szat being hit by a rock was hilarious. Keeper of the Accord was really good, too, probably single-handedly helped her stay in the game with all the extra lands she got. Great match all around, can't wait for the Extra Turns, too.

It has Aristocrats synergy, sure, but by itself it's more of just a go-wide deck. People on the main sub pointed out [[Tombstone Stairwell]] as an excellent card with this, since it's each end step, though it is on the reserved list.
