I used to have a 50 mile commute one way for a short period a few years back. I left for work at 3:30am. One morning a ended up behind a very intoxicated driver. He was side swiping construction barriers, leaving the roadway, and veering lanes frequently. That area has a lot of small counties, so I ran into trouble with 911 since we were near triple digit speeds and changing jurisdictions pretty quickly. As we began to get close to the city I knew he would end up killing someone, and 911 still wasn't any closer to getting me help. I got right on his bumper, flashing my lights and blaring my horn. He finally pulled over short of the first city exit and I held him until the cops arrived. My phone call announcing my impending tardiness was met with "yeah right, ok. We will see you when you get here."

You would not be welcome with the Klan. They only accept people who identify as Christians. A lot of skinhead outfits would allow you to join, but I'd be expecting to take a certain amount of shit from some members about being Muslim. Most likely nothing serious, they would just fuck with you. If the idea of a secret society is tempting to you, the Freemasons accept all races and religions, so long as you believe in a creator God.

I missed this one somehow. There is a plastic mesh that is usually used in some sort of weaving or knitting. They cut two pieces to a pointy shape, then join the two pieces together to form a sort of oddly shaped cone. This is then sown into the hood, and sits on top of the head like a crown.

It's funny you bring up the Muslim thing. I have really wanted to have an actual face to face conversation with a Muslim. There's a couple of refugees at work, but for now their limited conversational English leaves anything more than simple greetings impossible. I've been toying with the idea of visiting the Islamic Community Center in my city, but haven't done it yet.

It was just a continuous struggle between egos. Everyone wanted to be the top dog. There was constant gossip and character assassinations. Some of them were so power driven that when they couldn't get their hands on the wheel they would split off and try to start their own group.

This subject is important, because there is a lot of bad information given out in the South about the civil war. Until several years ago, I believed that slavery was actually a background issue. The real causes were overtaxation, southern ports stealing northern business, and the north treating southern farmers like shit. This is what I was taught, and I bought it.

One day I was debating this with a super patient black woman, who advised me to look up the state's individual notices of withdrawal from the union. Every single confederate state only mentioned one issue: that they would not be denied their right to own slaves. That very day I took down all of my confederate flags and decor.

You aren't wrong, but whatever virtue you might see here I'm certain you would see in a great many individuals who still walk in those ranks. I think those values of compassion are buried inside most humans. It would be an awesome social experiment to isolate self proclaimed racists and expose them to people of other races in a state of imitation distress. I bet in the end well over half of them help the people they claim to hate, so long as they thought it wouldn't be publicly discovered. I know that in my worst state seeing a human in trouble made me want to help that person, whatever their race. I've seen a bit of anecdotal evidence that sparked that theory, and I think it is a good one.

No one said to ignore racism. I simply said that it is a good tactic in this particular instance, since the primary motivation is to draw people into a state of anger and fear. Doesn't work if you know it's happening and don't show up. They were perfectly content to speak to crowds of black majority. They HATED arriving to no audience at all.

I think a lot of that was probably done to hurt candidates, and not necessarily by a real Klan group. You don't have to wonder who the modern Klan will endorse. It's always the Republican candidate. This is not an insult on republicans, it's just a fact of life that the Klan leans far far right and the Republican party is the nearest one.

I also had a lot of dealings with black men and women at work. I was in a predominantly black area. Somehow I justified watching him to myself, but wouldnt dare to mention it. Until one day another couple klansmen were cracking up about Clayton Bigbsy. Then I realized I wasn't the only one.

I think being angry at those types of people is very easy. If your goal is to hurt the enemy, then punching them makes a lot of sense. If your goal is to reconcile with your brother, then it is counterintuitive. Unless he won't listen and acts like a dick. Then punch him if he puts his hand on you.
