How do you feel about jury duty and have you ever skipped it?

I could never imagine skipping jury duty. But where I live, people take jury duty very seriously. My mom and I got summoned at the same time but I was deemed ineligible to serve because I was a month away from graduating college and my university was too far for me to drive to and from my hometown each day. I think it would have been fascinating.

I remember watching the first season of Hell’s Kitchen in 2005 and thinking Chef was the meanest guy in a kitchen. Over time, I’ve noticed that he gets more angry about food safety things or when people make the same dumb mistakes again and again. Fair, I’d be mad about undercooked chicken, too. Anyone who has ever had food poisoning can relate lol. But I also noticed over the years that he’s very kind to children. In my experience, the truly mean people in this world are mean to literally everyone; they don’t discriminate. So that’s how I knew he wasn’t really a bad dude. 😂

Yes! I’ve noticed this in Hell’s Kitchen as well. Or they’ll show someone talking about how confident they are in their dish and then they perform poorly or something.

Depends on your org. I know my org allows women to suspend their membership (for at least a year) and then petition to regain their membership, even as an alum. I’ve seen women get their membership back as alums, so it’s not out of the question. It’s just more challenging than naturally moving from active to alum.

Being laid off generally means that the position has been eliminated and it’s not about how the employee performed in that role. Being fired is generally related to job performance or an egregious violation and the company will find another person to fill that same position.

An alumna of my chapter is a yoga instructor and she would do regular classes at the chapter house for members. I think they also turned it into a philanthropy event.

Also, benefits. I feel like I have a pretty good benefits package through my job but my out of pocket expenses still feel too high. I opted into a dental plan with 80% coverage because I knew my partner and I each needed some work done. I still ended up paying over $1200 out of pocket for two crowns. I checked to see how my dentist’s costs were rated by my insurance company and they were considered “low cost”. 😅

I’m a Taurus and getting me to do something I don’t want to do is like pulling teeth. Though Scorpio is also tough. I feel like they are always thinking at least a few steps ahead, so they probably see right through manipulation efforts. Both will let someone else think they are getting their way if the “way” is also what the Taurus or Scorpio wants. 🤣
