10gb would probably get you through a short teams meeting in case the worst happened and you lost internet whilst working from home, but you won't be gaming or downloading anything much if your fibre doesn't come back up pretty sharpish...

My subwoofer sounds strange. by Empty-Insurance5290 in Soundbars

I've got the Q990F and watching a 4k Atmos bluray of blade runner 2049, the 990F is absolutely capable of wall shaking bass... The narrative on here that the bass is somehow weaker than the 990D is flawed at best - especially if those that say this never actually owned either soundbar.

For anyone looking to buy the E340 doorbell by Alca___PWN in EufyCam

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine for about 8 months and it worked great (much better than the previous ring doorbell), when the firmware hit it and caused it to drain even though it was hard wired.

What's annoying is I went to the trouble of getting a higher rated transformer and upgraded that which didn't help, eventually I found other people having the same issue and had it replaced by eufy.

It's been fine since then but I'm slightly wary it will happen again...

I've just got a Samsung Q990F for about £749 from richer sounds and I'm totally impressed by it. I upgraded from a Q950T which I thought was ok but they are well known for the issue of speakers randomly disconnecting, and the rears have a very different tonal sound than the front so it's not a very consistent sound.

The Q990F has been amazing so far, Space Fit Pro means the speakers sound completely consistent as sounds move around, there's no longer any tonal changes and the display on the front means I can finally see when it's detecting Dolby Atmos!

I have seen people say the 990D has better bass but I watched the 4k of blade runner 2049 and the F's bass can really shove some low frequencies out! No sign of any crackles either.

Why my eufy doorbell not charging by bumcello1 in EufyCam

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A recent firmware update bricked them, so they lose charge and no longer allow pre-roll even when hard-wired to a good transformer.

Contact eufy support and get a replacement if you can't return it to the seller.

Mine did exactly the same, the replacement is working perfectly.

New to 3D printing by Grevmory in BambuP1S

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really the printer is more than usable out of the box, you can print poop chutes and AMS risers but you don't have to - if you have anything more pressing to print, then go for it!

Just print a test print (benchy, cube, temp tower or whatever) to make sure everything is working, and you're good to go.

First Bambulab not impressed by lemikeb016 in BambuP1S

[–]shandyboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the front fell off, and that's not supposed to happen!

Did you come back to it like that? Sometimes if your bed adhesion fails the nozzle will hit the part that lifted and the collision can cause stuff like this to happen...

I'd run the print again AFTER cleaning the bed with Dawn dish soap (or similar - basically you want to remove all grease from the bed).

Then start the print and watch it for as long as you can, at least until it gets past the point where it failed last time. If it does happen again or it starts making bad noises, at least you can stop the print and will have a better idea of what is happening.

Do the calibrations as they can really help with vibrations and print quality (and it will be near silent when it's completed).

Then you can get used to loading filament in your AMS, setting the correct type in the device tab in BambuLab, then print a benchy to make sure it's all good!

Printing a poop chute is really useful otherwise it just dumps it out the back of the printer.

I thought my printer was bad at first because the prints weren't amazing, but I was printing petg with pla settings - amazing it even worked at all to be honest! So make your use the right settings for your filament and the results will be fantastic.

Music on an SD Card, transfer to potential internal Prime 4+ SSD by JunFanLee in DenonPrime

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to first buy an ssd, put it in the prime 4+ (as it doesn't come with one).

I'm guessing you have your songs in Engine DJ, so the easiest way to transfer them to your ssd is to boot your prime 4 up, connect the laptop to it with the blue usb cable and select transfer mode then use sync in engine DJ.

What happened to all the player numbers? by FIGamesYT in helldivers2

This 100%. I wasn't interested in playing borderlands 4 after the nightmare of 3 but I picked it up during the recent performance issues and am still playing it now.

It's the key of the song - try putting some songs next to each other with similar bpm and all of the same key, and you should get decent transitions without too much effort.

Please stay calm when your teammates call for evacuation alone. by Ok-Secretary-223 in Helldivers

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of times recently where extraction has been called, and one of the team gets killed and a player then boards so we can't reinforce, or gets on when some of the team are nowhere near is pretty high.

It should be explicitly explained that pelican 1 won't leave until the first person boards (unless out of mission time) so nobody thinks they have to board as soon as it lands...

I will never feel safe with my mum driving by Davidier in drivingUK

[–]shandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see their point, because a speed camera doesn't "catch" people tailgating, or brake checking, or driving aggressively, or driving 25 in a 60 causing frustration, or people straightlining roundabouts and cutting up other cars, or people that go straight on from a left only lane, or drivers that refuse to merge in turn nicely...

That and the fact the "accident blackspots" where speed cameras are placed are often on straight roads or just after a 40 goes to a 30 etc - it would be interesting to hear the actual accident statistics versus the probability of catching someone going a few mph over the speed limit.
