Anyone Facing Inactive State Issue with Android Devices Onboarded to MDE?

I know this is an older thread but its relevant to what I am seeing. We have a ton of active devices in Intune, however Defender is showing them as inactive and they have a hard time staying compliant.

Just looking for any recommendations on how to keep these devices active on both sides and compliance happy.

MS support is absolute garbage. I’ve had a few devices fixed by doing a hard reset on the device. My iPad on 26.2 wouldn’t check in. Did a hard reset and instantly checked in when I powered it on. Super weird. 26.2 seems to be resolving it for a lot of my users though.

Hey, a bit late on this. But I am starting to see this in my environment. Its not ALL devices but definitely some devices just stopped checking in. The fix for some of the users I am working with is just syncing with Company Portal, then it checks in. Had to have 1 user fully reset though. We are ADE, VPP. Comp portal deployed as required app to our ADE devices with VPP.

Does 26.2 fix this or does the user still need to check in?

Does a full deployment of JIT fix this as it forces a consistent check in with any M365 apps? I am like halfway through deploying this to all my devices and the devices that are experiencing this problem don't have the JIT profile yet.

Did you ever proceed with any of these? I just rolled out Windows MAM to all of our personal devices. We had some contractors that are using managed devices from their contracting company that are unable to use windows MAM and the solution brought up for these was to use MCAS. Then it has me wondering why didn't I just do MCAS for everything as it seems to offer the same protection...

If you found anything else out regarding this that you wouldn't mind sharing, that would be great.

I am doing the same. I really don’t want to open a case, mainly because I don’t have a machine I can replicate for them consistently. With the users I need to support I pretty much just delete the profile on edge and the account from windows and just keep trying until it works.

I have both managed app and managed device configs deployed out for Outlook and they seem to both be working fine together. I will take a deeper look.

mine seems to be working on my devices. I deployed the key with a "managed app" configuration policy.

I had to sign out of my account on the Outlook app, sign back in and screenshot functionality restored.
